Seller’s Description: This 40th Anniversary Edition, six speed Corvette, was taken to Callaway Cars of Old Lyme, Connecticut, when it was only three years old. Initially fitted with the SuperNatural 400 conversion, one year later was upgraded with the SuperNatural 450 package. Calloway’s modifications included increasing the engine displacement to 6.3 liters with software engineering, modifications to the cylinder heads, and the installation of an upgraded throttle body and tubular exhaust headers. Included in the sale is Calloway literature, as well dyno sheet from 1997. It is powered by 6.3 liter V8 and really has an exhaust note to match!
Under previous ownership the car has been repainted in its original color of Ruby Red Metallic (68), and it retains a nice shine. Repair work was completed on a cross-member and the fiberglass floor in 2014. The same year included doing a cooling system flush along with replacement of the distributor, water pump, serpentine belt, and temperature sender as well as power steering rack and tge pump.
In collector ownership since late 2021, less than 600 miles have been added since its purchase. It is important to note that it is driven regularly on short trips around Litchfield County Connecticut, only in nice weather.
The ruby red interior is in very nice condition, with power windows as well as power bucket seats – complete with 40th Anniversary headrest stitching. Displayed prominently on the center cluster is the plaque, documenting it as a Callaway SuperNatural Corvette modified by Callaway Engineering of Old Lyme, Connecticut. The Delco/Bose AM/FM CD/cassette stereo was replaced in 2014 and the air conditioning has been converted to R134a.
The matching convertible top is in excellent condition, while it retains it 40th Anniversary badging on the fender and a luggage rack.
It’s fitted with its Aluminum 17″ sawblade wheels, with Goodyear Eagle tires that will want to be replaced in the future. Equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, and a
selective ride suspension system with three settings, controlled by a knob on the center console.
This is a very powerful Callaway Corvette and a wonderful modern classic with a very rare pedigree!
