SOLD
Reader Tom H purchased four old work trucks so that he could use one of them as marketing his repair shop in Shoshoni, Wyoming. He sold the two roughest trucks, mounted a billboard to one and decided to list the nicest/most complete of the four on Barn Finds! It’s going to be a big project but looks to be solid throughout. You can find it in Shoshoni, Wyoming with an asking price of $4,150 and you can message Tom via the form below.
Asking Price: $4,150
Location: Shoshoni, Wyoming
Mileage: 99,999
Title Status: Missing
VIN: 21FRJ6099
Seller’s Description: This is the 5 window cab version and this was the last year to receive the full chrome front end trim. It is a complete vehicle except for the radiator, timing cover, gas cap, distributor cap, and headlight rings. Totally original patina is untouched. Perfect for a restorer or a rat rodder. I bought 4 of these. One is holding a billboard in front of my shop and 2 are sold already. This was the best of the bunch in terms of condition but is not non-running. Engine is seized. I have done nothing to it but wash it and air up the tires.
Body Condition: Faded to primer, surface rust, and dents, a couple places have tears and will need welding. Upholstery is shot. No rust through spots at all. Floor pans are intact.
Mechanical Condition: The engine is seized, brakes are flat, steering works, rear differential turns quietly, other parts unknown. Straight 6 and 3-speed manual.
This truck really does have a sweet look to it and would make for a great rat rod. Drop an LS crate engine in, restore the interior, upgrade the brakes and you’d have one heck of a fun truck!
Do you have a low mileage survivor parked in your garage, shed or barn? Does it need a new home? Please consider listing it here on Barn Finds!

Comes with a perfect front bumper off a 51. Also entertaining best offer by phone 307-876-2347.
Curious about what the seller refers to as the “full chrome front end trim”…..
The grille was painted the same color as the truck in later years instead of being chrome plated. I’m no expert on them, just speaking of the ones I have owned. Everything after 48 was painted. Maybe it was just a factory option?
Here is a pic of a 52 for example.
my 54 has factory chrome grille and stainless window trim. Maybe it was just the 48-53’s
“Complete” truck (except missing 5 or 10 parts!) lol! love how people describe complete. Oh let’s not forget that the title is missing too.
John C. If you don’t want it, go ahead and scroll somewhere else. Nobody needs your sarcasm. It is a good truck for a rat-rod or a restoration. No one will get this one running without a new engine.
(A title has been ordered from the state, but I am not offering a title until it actually gets here)
Sale Pending and Deposit Taken. I will delete the ad when the sale is finalized, or remove this comment and keep it for sale. I will take action by 11-4-18. Thanks for all the interest and calls on this.
Folks, also remember, Shoshoni, Wyoming is on an Indian reservation. Sad to have to say, the American Indian, in certain areas, are still angry with the White Man. I’d be willing to say that there isn’t one American Indian bidding on this “complete” truck. Most of the trucks from this era are usually priced at at least half this asking price.
This truck sold a week after I posted it so apparently it’s worth way more than you guys thought. It was purchased by an out of towner that saw it on here for $4K exactly.
