We just heard from Reader Geoff R, the winner of this 1961 Porsche 356B T5 auction. The car has already made the journey from Idaho to its new home in Michigan. Geoff sent us a quick email update, and here’s what he said: “I’m just letting you know that everything worked out great. The car arrived on Sunday. It’s a long-overdue dream come true. I’ve wanted a T5 coupe since I was about 12 years old. I took a few detours into British, Italian, and French cars, but when I saw this one come up, I knew it was time for a “last project” car. As a bonus, the wife loves it, too. Your shipper contact (Dakota) was excellent.”
Geoff also let us know that he is going to replace the floors while leaving the original paint alone. As he puts it, “the paint has a lot of characters and history on it”. Having seen the car in person, I have to agree with him on that. It sounds like this Porsche has found a good home and we hope to see more updates soon! Our thanks to Geoff for the update.
Thank you Josh for the update. This T5 went to a good home!
Well done, Josh. Post a photo of the other Porsche club members when you show up in a 356 with character, not an over restored bauble.
Enjoy your new toy
