While I’m happy that we were able to find a good home for Andrew’s Dodge Spirit R/T, I’m a bit sad that it isn’t being delivered to my driveway! This has to be one of the cleanest Spirit R/Ts I’ve ever seen. These things are a blast to drive, but they didn’t build many and even fewer have survived in this kind of condition. Andrew recently let us know that this BF Exclusive sold and the new owner already picked it up! You can read Andrew’s ad here.
Barn Finds Team,
I just wanted to let you guys know I have sold the Spirit R/T because of your website. You guy do an excellent job with all the cool and forgotten vehicles out there, nothing but praise for you efforts and web page. I will be passing along you webpage to family and friends who are looking to sell or buy a cool vehicle. Keep up the great work and I will continue to check out all the cool cars you feature
Thank you again,
Andrew Leonard
We want to thanks Andrew for listing his Dodge with us and for the kind words! Hopefully, the new owner will keep us posted on this Find. If you have a survivor parked in your barn, garage or she’d that needs a new home, please consider listing it here on Barn Finds!
Andrew, would it be rude to ask how much you ended up getting for the car?
Also did they ever put this dual overhead cam in the LeBaron coupes in the US?
Miguel, You could only get the TIII in the Spirit and Daytona up in the ‘states,
It sounds like a nice Lebaron/Phantom with this engine would be an interesting car to export from Mexico.
Nobody at the car show would have one to compete with you.
Hola Miguel, the DOHC 16V Intercooled Turbo 2.2L engine was only available with the Spirit R/T. This engine with a head designed by Lotus produce 225HP and come with a Getrag 5 speed manual capable of 0 to 60 in almost 6 seconds.
This cars have a limited production from 1991 to 1993.
The 1990-1994 Spirit R/T, Shadow GTS Phantom R/T that we have for sale in Mexico have the 2.5L SOHC Turbo 150 HP Automatic transmission only and sell by thousands on that years and where made in Toluca Mex.
The DOHC was made in USA very few went for sale in Mexico as “Special Import” a friend of mine have one at that time 1992 and was a blast to drive also was faster than the top sports cars for sale at that time in the Mexican market.
Saludos
The Phantom was available with the DOHC engine.
Here is at least one available.

You are right! they come also with the Phantom R/T in 1992 as an Special Import Edition
Great find! looks nice and good price!
I need to find one in the most original condition, which as you know, is very hard in Mexico. I want one ion my collection, the Phantom, not so much the Spirit.
I wonder if it would be worth anything in the US as it was never sold there.
Why?
Who are you asking and what is the question?
That car looks great and IMHO lot better deal than the Spirit, look the body, paint, interior, engine bay, less miles and cheaper around $5,000 US Dollars.
My ’92 Spirit is for sale – currently $8500 o.b.o.
@Greg Doud – Please consider listing your Spirit here on the site: https://barnfinds.com/sell/
