Up for sale is this package deal of 1971 Ford vans consisting of one E100 and two E300’s. The asking price is $2,500 and they are located in Foristell, Missouri. None have any miles listed although the seller says they drive the white one weekly. Thank you to Jack M. for finding these three. The listing can be found here on Craigslist.
All that is known about the mechanical components are that two of them have a 302 Windsor connected to a C4 automatic transmission. They are advertised as having a clean title and the seller would like to sell them as a collective unit. If you have a fancy for old Ford vans, this is a great deal on a handful of them.
The seller indicates that parts from one should be put into one of the others. That being said, there is a lot one can do with one of these vans. Since one is already a truck, the other can be turned into a camper. You can put a mini fridge, hot plate, table, and fold out bed in it and travel the open road. It would make for great stories.
The white van that runs could be used almost like a shop truck, shuffling about, collecting the parts and necessary equipment to build the other van. You would end up having a van for work and a van for pleasure. Depending on what you would need from the source vehicle, once finished with you, you can sell what remains for a bit of cash.
Thinking of going into the Ice cream business. Great starting fleet !
Seems like a fair price for the package; the white one (at a distance) actually looks like something Ford could have built… somewhat appealing.
302 Windsor ?
I always liked the styling of these. But these were terrible drivers. The next model were much better. These were the first Ford vans with the “twin I beam” suspension. To make it somewhat livable, you replace the front springs with Moog cargo coils, (better frequency) install the best quality shocks you can find, replace the 16.5″ wheels with 16″ and install radial tires. THEN you have a reasonable driving Ford van from this era. Low profile 16.5″ wheels and front suspension with the wrong frequency makes for an “interesting” tire eating experience!
I like the flat/stake bed!
I like this era for the centerion, esp the 3 door variety.
OMW, I would do just the oposit of your idea! I would build a coustom camper on the truck one! Then make a good one out of the other two!
