1964 Chevrolet Impala For $500

1964 Chevy Impala

I’m still trying to decide if this ’64 Impala is a good deal at $500. You don’t see these cars come up often for that kind of money, but then again this car is a 4 door and is missing its engine and transmission. If it were a 2 door, I have no doubt it would have sold the moment the seller put it here on craigslist, but 4 doors just aren’t in as high of demand. The lack of the engine doesn’t help, but it does open up options for customization. With a 350 and a 4 speed, you’d have a cheap and fun cruiser or go real wild and install a big block to make an incredible sleeper! Just imagine the surprised looks on fellow driver’s faces as you beat them off the line in a giant cloud of smoke and burned rubber! You can find this Impala here on craigslist in Princeton, North Carolina. Special thanks to Rettaman J for this great tip! So do you think this is a good buy and if it were yours what engine/transmission would you put in it?

Down to $400.00 now. Yeah… it’s worth it. Lots of good parts on this one.

I’d drop a big block and a stick shift in it and go out hunting suckers!

This Chevy is worth $400. There is a lot of body work to be done, so don’t have any illusions. A 327 and 4 speed would be period correct, but a 350 would be awesome.

It’s worth 400 all day long but I think the holes in it scare people more than the extra doors. The ad is pretty honest about its needs. It might be a parts car.

For $400 you can’t expect much, if you are a good welder and decent painter this would make a nice sleeper daily driver for cheap.

I had a fairly nice ’64 impala convertible in high school. I hated the styling and the skinny tires. I couldn’t get anyone to go $200.00 for it, so I let my Brother trade it for a motorcycle. A 1965 or even 1963 looks a lot better. By 1972 when I had mine, even the performance parts had moved on. The 409 was old school and the new cars used the 427 or 454. There was nothing to like about that car.

This is a parts car or if a body man has time & ambition , a project car if the frame is good.
