Amazing 1979 Chevrolet C10 Bonanza Big 10 Survivor!

This 1979 Chevrolet C-10 Bonanza Big 10 pick up is in amazing condition. The selling dealer states that the truck is all original down to the clean sheet metal and rust-free floorboards. The two-tone Colonial Yellow is original and the truck is still mounted on its original Rally wheels. Listed for sale here on eBay, this classic short bed truck is not cheap. The seller has a Buy It Now Price of $25,900 but is also considering offers. There are currently 3 days remaining in the listing. The truck is located in St. Louis, Missouri.

The tan interior is immaculate and it is had to believe that this truck has 80,322 miles on the odometer. Surely, the carpet has been replaced and possibly the seat cover. The Big 10 option came was a sticker package but also came with a heavy-duty suspension. This truck is optioned nicely with a V8 engine, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, and tilt steering. The AM/FM radio has been upgraded to a nice Retro Sound unit. I have one of these stereos in my car and Bluetooth works great and automatically syncs with my iPhone every time I start the car.

The numbers matching 350 cubic inch V8 engine is backed by an automatic transmission. The engine compartment looks original and is said to start right up and run well. The original owner kept the sales invoice and some other paperwork that is included with the sale of the truck. Usually, these trucks show rust in the rocker panels and cab corners first. This truck is beyond clean and is simply immaculate.

The Big 10 sits up nicely and is equipped with a sliding rear window. The air conditioning has been converted to R134a and blows cold. If you like unique colors, this truck may be what you’re looking for because the condition of the body and drivetrain sets this truck head and shoulders over a lot of the pickups that we see.

Beautiful truck but certainly not original; this truck has been extensively restored. No way a 40 year-old pickup with 80k on it would look this good no matter how well it was cared for. However, the restoration looks like it was done to a high standard, I can’t find fault with it in or out. Considering the condition, the ask is probably reasonable because it looks like it needs absolutely nothing. It’s pretty well optioned with a dependable 350 and the two-tone color is very attractive. These trucks are appreciating in value so even though $26k is a lot of money, years from now it might seem like it was a good investment. If I was looking for a nice square body pickup, this would be the one I’d want.

Nice truck, bet definitely a repaint, along with new upholstery and new carpet. Roof was yellow originally. They got sloppy inside the cab, painting the door jamb switches. When painting the dash, they did not remove things that should have been removed. They even got over spray on the glove box liner. Screws attaching the instrument cluster trim are wrong. Not enough attention to small details.

Nailed it! Also the tailgate letters would be white if not a repaint.

And it has a 1975-6 grille insert.

These are all minor nitpicks, but 25 grand is top dollar so this sort of thing comes into play if that’s being asked.

That’s a lot of money for 2 wheel drive.

    I don’t think that’s a ‘79 grille either.

Ready for a trip to your nearest Home Depot or a load of gravel!

OK, I really like squarebodies and such an example in these beautiful colors is really appealing. But again, with this kind of $ there are several other vintage vehicles I’d much rather hunt down than a frikkin’ C10. This one really is way too nice for any kind of service except show duty. Nit pick: window cranks are incorrect – I think these were last used in ’76 but they do look good

The grille is not from a ’79 either

80k on the clock and not a scratch in the bed with no liner? I’m gonna have to agree with the other comments and say it’s a nice restoration. All original? Naw. Still, a very nice truck. But I’m with Tom on this one; $26k is a lot for a 2wd.

Ad says paint is original colors, not original paint.

$25k is the current market for a mint square body, but it’s the top of the market. This truck is clean as can be ,but doesnt have the options or colors to be top tier. The folks who like yellow will be smitten though .As for the comments on 2wd vs 4wd,the 4 x4 upcharge you would see on a late model driver, do not apply to collectables.A 2 wheel drive half ton ,or Blazer will usually outsell a 4 wheel unit.

What David G said. And add to that, an incredible amount of mud in the drivers door lower corner. There’s alota lipstick on this pig.

Should firewall be body color? Who would buy an inexpensive truck back then & not use it in bad weather or off road? In a few short years of normal use with less miles than this, this truck would be rusting bad.
    & so would a ’70s f-body. I seen a ’74 t/a in ’78 with 43k miles whose lower qtr panels were already rusting.

Fit and finish was never a concern on mid 70’s American vehicles. Looking at the shot of lower drivers door makes you think it’s either the worst assembly line blunder or horrible attempt to align door and mouldings. The door sticks out further than than the cab and looks awful puffy and wavy. Sure signs that someone as been here before. The dash A/C control panel looks pretty beat up too. Shouldn’t both slider knobs be chrome? If you can verify there’s no rust repair or bad bodywork under the new paint maybe it’s worth replacing the other items that bring down the overall presentation. Start with weatherstrip seals on doors for starters. Too bad they didn’t spend a few hundred more dollars to make it all visually more appealing.
