We’ve watched the values of classic SUVs climb significantly over the past few years. While that increase has mainly been for early Broncos and Jimmys, it’s begun to trickle down to later Blazers like Reader Jeff N’s that you see above. He’s owned this K5 since new and while the paint has seen better days, this could be a great truck to fix up. It still runs and drives as is. Jeff admits it has some surface rust, but that there aren’t any holes. You can find this 4×4 in Waikoloa, Hawaii with an asking of $5,000 or best offer and you can message Jeff via the form below.
What Makes It Special? I’m the original owner of this Blazer. I special ordered it in 1990 as a Silverado with a manual trans, as I couldn’t find one with a manual transmission on any Chevy dealer lots at the time. It features a 350 FI small block, manual transmission, 4wd, and limited slip differential. This would make for a good restoration project as it has never been modified and is totally original. No suspension mods. Runs great for its age and mileage.
Body Condition: There is some surface rust, but no metal penetration. The body is solid and never been hit or damaged. The top has NEVER been removed and the factory seal is intact. The body is factory original.
Mechanical Condition: The engine runs very well. Have changed the oil every 2,000 miles from day one. The transmission shifts smoothly with no bearing noise and the LSD is quiet. The manual locking hubs move freely and are fully functional.
So, who’s up for a vacation to Hawaii? I’m not sure what it would cost to ship this truck back to the mainland, so you will want to look into that before making a deal if you live anywhere other than Hawaii. And if you do happen to live near Waikoloa, go take a look and let us know what you think! So, would you fix this original Blazer back up?

As a long time Blazer-holic I must say this one will make a darn good project car! Just the manual itself makes it desirable, wonder how many(or few) first owners were conscious enough to opt for that in ’90?
Given seller bought it new there have most likely been just one pair of hands fiddling with it and also more eagerly maintained.
Quite coincidentally there was a rerun of a Misfit Garage episode this morning where a K5 donated its frame to a Jeep Travelall.Up to recent years zillions of K5s and K10s have lost their frames to similar more or less successful projects. Considering what they seem to sell for now maybe that wasn’t really clever after all…?
Totally agree, had a 83 and a 91, that fuel injected 350 ran a heck of a lot better that the 305. Would love this !
Nice…..
Since I take very good care of my cars from day one, it is odd to see the guy spout off about ordering it special with the stick, then we see the condition, which is trashed in every way.
Also since Hawaii is an island, how in the heck did he get 200K miles on that truck. Where did he go?
