20 Footer: 1975 Pontiac Trans Am

This 1975 Pontiac Trans Am is located Stonewall, Manitoba, Canada. The car was originally a 4 speed, factory A/C car that was painted Sterling Silver. The car is listed for sale here on eBay. There are 7 days remaining in the auction and the Trans Am is currently bid to $6,000 but the reserve has not been met. The odometer reads 25,468 miles which is likely the second time around the block.

The car is equipped with the L78 400 cubic inch V8 engine and backed by an automatic transmission which the seller believes is a GM Turbo Hydromatic 350 transmission. The ad states that the intake manifold is an Edelbrock aluminum manifold but it appears to be painted and aftermarket chrome valve covers. While the seller is not sure about the internal components, engine does had headers and a lumpy cam. The shaker hood scoop is bolted to the hood. The carburetor probably needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

The interior is where this car shines. The Trans Am has the standard base interior but it is in immaculate condition. An aftermarket B&M shifter is protruding from the console. The car is not heavily optioned but all the components (seats, door panels and dash) appear to be in great shape. The seller states that the tachometer does not work and a Alpine AM/FM cassette player is installed in the dash. Pioneer 6×9 speakers are mounted in the rear deck.

The Trans Am rides on 18″ American Racing wheels with larger tires in the rear than in the front. The seller believes that the car is equipped with 3:73 rear gears which would not be stock. The car could use new weather stripping and the paint is described as a “20 footer.” The car seems to be solid with very little rust. The windshield does have two cracks but this would be considered a good driver while the new owner fixes some of the smaller issues.

If I were rich I’d buy it send it to Joe Martin and let him do his magic on it. But nice to dream from time to time. Oh well such is life good luck to who buys it.

“Lumpy cam”–love it! Sits kind of high, doesn’t it? As my Mom would have said, it is what it is!

Interior looks really nice. But it would look so much better outside with some factory wheels and original sized tires on the front and back.

Isn’t the under hood Vin card supposed to be riveted to the car? not screwed down as in the above picture.

Not a bad looking old car, for what it is. Wouldn’t mind having if I could get it for the right price.

The firebird on the hood looks too high up. It seems that there is too much empty space under its tail feathers.
