This Jaguar E-Type is the last of three that we are selling for the owner. He inherited all three cars from his father and they are all projects. This one is a 2+2 and although it’s a little rusty, it’s mostly complete and the engine turns over. It’s being auctioned with no reserve so be sure to take a closer look if you’re in the market for an XKE project.
When the owner inherited this car a few years ago, he towed it to a local garage and had the mechanic get the car running. It now has a fuel issue but it does turn over. The brake system also needs to be gone through in order to be drivable again. The underhood shots make me think that this car was originally a brighter red… or maybe it’s badly faded.
A four-speed roadster would be nice but an automatic coupe might be a better option for some. The interior is a little crusty but it appears to be complete. It may not be as valuable as its roadster brethren, but with the wire wheels and automatic transmission it was actually a tricked-out machine when new.
There’s some rust underneath that will need to be addressed but the body actually looks straight. We’ve seen Jags in much worse condition that were brought back to life so this doesn’t seem like a bad place to start. Be sure to look through all the photos and leave any questions in the comments section below before bidding.

That same red/maroon color. What did Jaguar call that?
It might be Damask Red. Slight pedant-y note; the 2+2 and the coupe are different beasts.
I think it’s called Carnival Red, my 1998 XJR is the same color.
Jaguar’s current maroon color for later models is called Carnival Red, this is probably the same color but may be a different name.
The VIN and mileage have been added to the listing. A photo of the manuals included with the car has also been added to the photo gallery.
We just added a video of the engine turning over.
After installing a new fuel pump, the seller was able to get this one running again. They recorded a short video of it running, which has been added above.
A friend had a 66 convertible straight 6 British racing green owned when about 10 years old really nice ride really fast on open road
