If you’re ready to go racing—or build something that could—this 1986 Porsche 930/935 Turbo might be the project you’ve been looking for. It’s a full-blown race chassis with extensive carbon fiber upgrades, and while the engine and transmission are missing, what’s here is serious race car hardware. It’s being offered as a Barn Finds Auction and is currently located in New Hampshire.
This isn’t your average 930 Turbo. Built as a track-focused tribute to the legendary Porsche 935, the car features carbon fiber bodywork from nose to tail, including the doors, fenders, quarter panels, hood, and even the dashboard. It’s a purpose-built machine that’s been parked in a barn but still carries a huge amount of potential. If you’re a racer, builder, or Porsche collector with a vision, this could be an opportunity to acquire a serious rolling chassis at a fraction of the finished cost.
The listing notes that the car originally came with a 3.6-liter engine and 4-speed manual transmission, though both are now gone. That opens the door for your choice of drivetrain, whether you’re aiming for air-cooled authenticity or a modern powertrain swap. The VIN (WPOJB0935G5051321) decodes to a genuine 1986 Porsche 930, so the bones are real—and rare.
Because this was used as a race car, it comes as you’d expect: stripped for performance and loaded with lightweight panels and high-end construction. It’s not ready for the street (and probably never was), but for someone looking to build a track monster, vintage race entry, or a wild outlaw 911, this chassis could be the ultimate blank canvas.
There’s no title, and it’s not a project for the faint of heart—but that’s what makes it a standout opportunity. The seller notes that shipping is available anywhere in the U.S. at $2 per mile. More details are available by phone if you’re serious.
Whether you’re dreaming of vintage Porsche racing or building something truly one-of-a-kind, this 930/935 Turbo shell is ready for its next chapter.

Listing indicates the title is clean, but also said the title is missing. What happened to the title? Can you post a pic of the VIN, please?
It’s a race car. The VIN is posted at the top of the page. Thanks!
No drive train? Okay, I’ll say it. Put an LS in it!!!! Haters in 3-2-1. 😆
Shipping at $2 per mile- LOL. I think that says a lot as you can ship cars coast to coast for well under $1000
Dang, thats a great price, who?
nota porsche guy. Ditch the whale tail & race paint. Put in a wreck’s motor. If having a title I assume you could register it for the road (I know, lotta work to convert) but it would be worth a lot more (near 175K$ depending on…). In decade’n 1/2 I think less than athousand were made…
I have a 930 transaxle with limited slip….
