BF Auction: 1994 Chaparral 1930SS Bowrider with 445 Hours

Current Bid: $2,000WatchPlace Bid

  • Seller: Iconic Motors (Contact)
  • Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
  • Mileage: 445 Hours Shown
  • Chassis #: FGBL0257B494
  • Title Status: Clean
  • Engine: 4.3-Liter V6 190hp
  • Transmission: MerCruiser Alpha One Sterndrive

Classic runabouts from the 1990s remain popular for their straightforward design and family-friendly versatility, and this 1994 Chaparral 1930SS Bowrider is a good example of why. Listed as part of a Barn Finds group of auctions in Oklahoma City, this Chaparral shows just 445 hours of use and comes with a clean title.

Power comes from a MerCruiser 4.3-liter V6 rated at 190 horsepower, paired with a MerCruiser Alpha One sterndrive. This well-known combination has long been a staple of recreational boating thanks to its balance of power, reliability, and ease of maintenance. According to the listing, the engine is functioning properly and has no reported issues. The boat has reportedly only been used in freshwater, which many buyers view as a plus when evaluating older boats. Freshwater use generally means reduced exposure to salt and the corrosion that can come with it.

With only 445 hours on the engine, this Chaparral has seen relatively limited use compared to many recreational boats of the same age. The seller describes it as super clean and meticulously maintained, both inside and out. Cosmetically, the paint is said to be in great condition, and the listing notes there are no visible dings. The front windshield is also described as being in excellent condition. The interior has reportedly been well maintained and remains extra clean, reflecting the overall care the boat has received.

Practical details are also included with the sale. A full mooring cover is part of the package, helping protect the boat when it’s not in use. The battery is new, it’s been fully serviced, and the sterndrive transmission is said to shift very smoothly.  The seller also notes that the trailer was also recently serviced and received all new tires, including the spare. Chaparral has long been known for building solid recreational boats, and the 1930SS Bowrider represents a classic configuration designed for cruising, relaxing on the water, and enjoying time with friends and family.

With a clean title, freshwater history, and relatively low hours, this 1994 Chaparral appears to be a well-kept example of a versatile sport boat. If you were looking for a simple and enjoyable way to spend time on the water, would this bowrider fit the bill?

Well, BF did an Amphicar not that long ago, so why not a boat that can’t be driven on the road?

Its a 4.3 Gary. They’re V6’s. I have 2 boats with them in them. They run good but the also have block problems.
Thats a nice boat but you can see the $8,000.00 price tag on it in one of the pics. You can buy them here for about $4,500.00. Cincy area and if you think that’s all your going to pay you’re wrong. Even if it’s been sitting inside, the bellows and all things rubber back there will have to be replaced along with a new gamble bearing, app $1,500.00. Now add $500.00 just to take it out of state and barnfinds cash out at $500.00 and your waaay underwater, get it, underwater. Jeez I crack myself up sometimes. Lol
Anyway, you’d have to get it for $3,500.00 to make it feasible to own, oh yea, not including getting it. Jmho

I’ve owned Mercruiser I/Os before and know about care & maintenance.
So…if it’s a 4.3 V6, then the pics of the engine are fraudulent?

Yabut..why does it say 5.0 V8 on the engine cover? Oh I get it, it’s one of those cylinder deactivation engines.

I think it’s a great site for anything related to transportation, with or without wheels.
I love to open my phone/ipad and find a new barn finds list. Grew up in the 50’s, learned to drive on my dad’s 55 Plymouth. Had a 3 on the tree and big v8, don’t remember how big. Haven’t seen one on barn finds list
See various cars that bring back a lot of memories.
The non automotive items I consider a treat. Educational and interesting.
I personally am not a. Vette fan or dragster cars. I like the designs, styles, etc.
to each his own. If you’re not into boats, just skip over. It’s not like you have to to look at each pic
Just kick back and enjoy the memories they bring.

I wonder if the 5.0 flame arrestor cowl makes it faster?

How cold does it get in OK? If it wasn’t winterized and it was used in fresh water …. Let’s put it this way , If I go to any of the surrounding marinas that store boats there is at least one I/O with a junk engine for free. It can happen quickly and suddenly its a free boat .
