Classic Dodge pickups have been gaining appreciation in recent years, and this 1954 Dodge C-1-B8-108 Pickup, now offered as a no-reserve Barn Finds Auction, is a rare opportunity to acquire a highly original example ready for restoration. Located in Dover, Arkansas, this truck has been in the same family since the early 1990s. Though it has been off the road for many years, it retains remarkable completeness, making it an excellent candidate for the enthusiast ready to bring a mid-century Dodge workhorse back to life.

This is a late-production 1954 C-series truck, featuring the desirable 241 cubic-inch Powerdome V8 engine, paired to a 3-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the drivetrain has not been diagnosed, and it is unknown if the motor currently turns over. However, having the original Powerdome V8 under the hood makes this a particularly appealing project for Mopar truck fans.

The truck features the 108-inch wheelbase and the high-side bed, along with the distinctive rear quarter windows that give these later 1954 trucks a more upscale look. According to the seller, trim elements such as door skins, glass surrounds, and even evidence of a headliner remain present, suggesting this may have been a higher-level model. They also mention how solid they feel this truck is, with only rust through they’ve been able to find being in the lower tailgate, lower doors, and battery box, as shown in the pictures

While the exterior exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with decades of storage, the truck is described as largely complete, with the only major missing pieces being the outside door handles. Given its long-term family ownership and originality, this Dodge offers the kind of unspoiled starting point restorers prize.

Inside, the truck will need a full restoration, but important elements remain intact, including the headliner bow and trim skins. With so much of the truck still intact, restoring the interior to its factory specification should be a straightforward task for an experienced enthusiast.

The seller acknowledges they are not an expert on the truck, but they emphasize its completeness and originality, noting that it has been on the family’s “project list” for decades. Now, it’s being offered so that another caretaker can give it the attention it deserves.

Opportunities to acquire a largely intact mid-1950s Dodge pickup, especially one equipped with the Powerdome V8, are increasingly rare. This truck represents a blank canvas for restoration, preservation, or even a carefully executed restomod build. Offered exclusively on Barn Finds Auctions, it’s ready for the next owner to decide its future.

Would you restore this 1954 Dodge Pickup back to its factory glory, or would you take it in a custom direction?

Complete, yes, but rough enough that a stock restoration isn’t practical. A Hellcat-powered, restomod build, on the other hand, would be sweet!

The looks of these have grown on me over the years. That, plus the fact that you would be the only one at any show, makes this truck appealing. Or at least one of this vintage. This one needs a lot

It isn’t complete, missing the driveshaft and those are impossible to find.

It’s missing a lot of bits including 40% of its metal, which has returned to the earth.

RESTORE IT!!!! I like restored VS retromod!! An experienced restorer could, with many $$$, make this truck into a great showpiece.. Being that it has the 5 window cab and an early factory V8 makes it fairly rare vehicle. Good luck to whoever buys it.. Just do NOT take it to the scrapper..

I’m not going to “bad mouth” this truck. It’s rare, aftermarket Hemi parts are (or were) available to a “certain level” from Hot Hemi Heads in N.C., and it would stand out as the Unicorn that it is. And a running 241 Red Ram is definitely a rare find.

In my opinion, the only down side to keeping the V-8 is that the Flathead 6 is a mere 11 cubes smaller in its stock form and just under 5 cubes smaller when overbored (there was a set of + .080” pistons on E-Bay last week – I looked for piston rings of that size, but came up empty handed!

Anyone who dares to be different certainly will get noticed with this truck.

It’s not a hemi – maybe what they used to call a ‘poly- sphere’ combustion chamber, I don’t remember.

Yes Chris,poly- sphere’ combustion chamber, 318s up through 1964 or 5. I would restore the body and interior to original with a modern chassis,& engine. I don’t like to slow down. I always like the body style on these. I’m not in love with the chassis or powertrain. It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

Jake, Granted the old flathead 6 was a wonderful engine and produced a whole lot of torque, BUT it looks like this V8 is factory original, which is rare.. Who needs at lot of power to get to a local show, cruise in, or cars and coffee at a back roads top speed of 50 +/- MPH???????

“Powerdome” refers to the Hemi. As stated above, this is a “Poly” engine.

“Powerdome” was only ever used in some early literature for the early poly engine, it was never associated with any Hemis.

          Used mainly in DeSotos too.

Not much here to work with, but it does have a V8. Usually they only had the flathead six. I imagine the engine’s in the same condition as the rest of the truck. And it’s a five-window. Not many of those either. This must have been a top of the line hauler out of the factory.

I do love the ’54 Dodge pickup, and it’s cool to see one with a factory V8, but I’ve only got space for one project and it’s occupied. GLWS!
