We are very excited to announce that we are helping find new homes for an entire collection of Pontiacs! A while back, reader TJ, sent us a tip about a craigslist ad in which the person posting the ad was asking for help selling their collection of Pontiacs. They were feeling a bit overwhelmed with how best to get these cars into good homes. We don’t normally respond to posts like this, we don’t want to bug anyone, but for some reason, I decided to send them an email offering our help. To my surprise, they emailed back shortly after with a list of well-thought-out questions. I responded to their questions as best as I could and their next email was asking what the next step was to get their collection listed. Since we contacted them, I offered to list all the cars for free and even paid for a professional photographer to help them get all the needed photos to properly present the cars. Taking photos of all ten cars in one session seemed like a huge task, so we decided to break things up into a few groups. So, we are going to be launching the first group of auctions today, and as soon as the photographer can get us photos of the next group of cars, we will get those launched!
Prior to sending the photographer over, I asked if they could get a couple of overview photos, which they did and can be seen below. I’m glad they agreed to do so, as it’s really fun to see all the cars together and to get a little preview. While we really want each auction to be just about the find at hand, some background of how this collection came to be is always a welcome addition. I suppose it wouldn’t take much to guess that the seller is a fan of Pontiacs and by the looks of it, his interests lean heavily towards early ’60s Bonnevilles. That isn’t to say his tastes didn’t include other models as well, as I see a couple of Grand Prix, a Catalina, and a Cadillac in the mix.

I for one am excited to see more photos of each car, learn a bit more about each one, and see how the auctions go! Be sure to keep an eye out for each listing and don’t forget to register to bid. I also want to take a moment to thank Graham for letting us auction their father’s collection of Pontiacs and our photographer Erik R for all his hard work. So, which one of these finds would you like to have?
Where is the auction and when?
The first one will be starting in a few minutes! This article will update as each one starts, with links to them for easy access.
Any more info on the rusty white Pontiac sitting by the cactus? I think it is the third photo. Thanks

So if the bid only goes to 1200 on one of those Pontiac’s , does the person have to sell it for that?
Since they are no reserve auctions, the final bid is what they go for!
Did these vehicles have any reserve on them or are they selling at no Reserve I am interested in the Grand Prixwhen will they be coming up for auction
These are no reserve auctions!
I’ll be in Phoenix on Tuesday the 4th. Is it possible to take a look at the cars in person?
A big thanks to you and Barn Finds for helping these folks out. Another reason I’m glad I became a member!
