Big Drop Top: 1942 Cadillac 62 Convertible

1942 Cadillac 62 Convertible

I can only imagine how important you would feel riding around in this big convertible Cadillac! You’d have to feel like a VIP every time you put the top down to just go out for a cruise, well at least you would if the car was in perfect condition. This one is in need of everything, but it is 1 of only 12 still known to exist, so surely someone will save it. I hope someone takes pity on this incredible Cadillac. If that person is you, you can find it here on eBay in Salem, Oregon with bidding already to $20,177. So have any of you ever had the chance to ride in a 62 Series Convertible?

This car is a prime example of:
    1. HOW does a car like this get into this condition?
    2. Where does the seller get the info “1 of 12 known to exist”?
    3. Even if this car was given to you, could you restore it and break even…?
That said, a really cool Caddy!

My question would be. How little could I do to make this drivable?
Yes it’s worth restoring, but as I don’t have the money or the time and I really like it.
Clean, buff, tinker, change fluids and go.
I know good luck with that one.

For me, the 41-49 Cadillacs are the least inspiring antique Cadillacs made. I never cared for that shape, or any of the GM cars of that era, for that matter.

its all about the tims back then. car markers had little to work with because of the war but they could still do this for a shortime the government needed all the metal to crash. I love it for making it though the era. just me and I was not born till 1960

Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7th On December 8, 1941, the United States Congress declared war (Public Law 77-328, 55 STAT 795) on the Empire of Japan in response to that country’s surprise attack on Pearl Harbor the prior day. It was formulated an hour after the Infamy Speech of US President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
