Collection Of American Iron For Sale

American Iron Collection

Nestled away in the heart of West Virginia is a collection of classic American Iron, the owner of which has decided to sell. They have listed their collection here on craigslist, but other than a few photos and a phone number, they offer absolutely no information about their cars. They don’t even provide a list of what all they have. Clearly, their interests have been focused on American muscle cars from the mid ’60s all the way up to the early 2000’s. I see all kinds of interesting cars, from Corvettes to AMXs and just about everything in between. I would love to know the full story behind this collection, or even just a complete list of what all is available! So how many of these cars can you identify? Special thanks to Robert R for this find.

Wayne – couldn’t agree more! Put me in the drivers seat of that AMX and watch the smile! Not a huge bowtie fan, but can appreciate – 442 is interesting as well.

While I’m pretty sure I can name any of these, I stopped after the AMX. That’s for me! I’ll be picky and add IF it has a 4-speed manual, of course.

Nice group of rides, but the ‘Vettes shown are, in my eyes, the least desirable. Unless it’s some kind of special-order factory supercar, I’m guessing the little AMC would be down near the bottom of the list, price-wise.

Someone has clearly spent some time and money keeping them shiny. I hope they’re as good underneath, as they ought to generate a pretty active bidding war.

I’m with ya TBall, I would go for the 442 if I couldn’t get the AMX!

AMX definitely, if I had a second choice mine would be the yellow second generation Camaro.

I’ll also take an AMX, do you think he has enough AMX’s to fill all of these orders?

    No scammers?

I picked the wrong week to take up residency in Nigeria.

    AMX for the win.

Amx, second gen trans am, 442 , second gen camaro and third gen camaro. Thats my irder of preference. The rest of it does nothing for me. Either too new or plastic. Is a nice collection though.

Surprisingly, I find myself in the majority. AMX w/ GO! package first, followed by the small window Z/28, then the Colonnade 442

Interesting that so many people (me included) would take the AMX first.

Maybe it’s because they are a clean, compact design. Maybe it’s because we don’t see them nearly as often as we see Camaros. They made fewer than 20K AMXs over 3 years, a fraction of the Camaros they made each year, which would explain that.

Funny how popular AMC products are now that the company is long gone but not as much when the cars were produced, and when I owned several.

I was thinking the same thing. Where was all this AMX love when they were for sale?

AMX, first choice. But is that black corvette the mighty ZR-1? The back looks rounded, the wide rear tires…

He mentions no scammers, but this feels like a scam itself. Random pictures, some inside, some outside. 2 different Pace Car Vettes -one with side pipes, one without. Very little detail given.

    That’s my take, anyway.
