Corvette, Impala SS409, And More Found In A Carport!

Reader Mark H recently came across a carport that’s protecting some really interesting finds. The owner had listed some motorcycles for sale that Mark stopped by to inspect, but once he arrived at the seller’s house he discovered that their carport houses a C2 Corvette. It turned out the seller had other carports in another location with other goodies, ranging from an Impala SS409 to a Cosworth Vega and more than just a few motorcycles. At this point the Vega and the motorcycles are the only things for sale, so if you are interested in either of those, let us know in the comments below and Mark will put you in contact with the owner.

From Mark – The Corvette appears to have been sitting in that spot for years. All the other pictures are one location owned by another person. The man standing by the Honda bikes is the owner of all these cool rides. He bought the ’66 Chevy II brand new. He bought the 1962 Impala SS 409cid 4-speed 40+ years ago.  The Cosworth Vega is for sale for $12k (if anyone’s interested), and the Corvair is a “Spyder” Turbo. The red Pontiac G-8 next to the Chevy II is a factory rocket that I never knew they made. The Honda 1100F is a rare one year made model, the bike in front is a Honda 750 painted to look like an 1100.

Mark didn’t get a real good look at the Corvette, so he can’t weigh in on its condition, but it looks like it hasn’t moved in a long time. While the Corvette could be an awesome find, I’m more interested in the Impala! You don’t find real SS 409 4-speed cars all that often, especially ones that appear to be in this nice of condition. There’s no word on whether it’s the 380 or 409 horsepower version, but either way, it’s a desirable car. There’s also no word if it’s for sale, but hopefully, Mark can get us more info on it.

Our thanks to Mark for sharing his find with us! He has some other interesting sightings that we will be featuring shortly, so stay tuned. And, if you come across any cool carport, shed or barn finds, be sure to send them to us at mail@barnfinds.com!

Seems everyone has a 409 story. I worked for a farmer in high school and his field car was a 62 impala convertible with a 4 speed and a 409. The suspension was sacked and he knew it was a special car and worth some money but he didn’t care it was the car he drove out to the combine, he passed away I never knew where the car ended up?

    Pity the seller.

Not sure why people have a hard time understanding “It’s not for sale”.
