EXCLUSIVE: 1965 Ford Galaxie 500XL Survivor!

Reader David M has decided that it’s time to part ways with this low mileage Ford Galaxie. Having covered just 35k miles, it’s in amazing shape inside and out. The 250 horsepower 352 V8 runs great and it’s ready to hit the road. So, if you’d love to have this survivor in your garage, be sure to contact David via the form below!

What Makes It Special? This Ford Galaxie has only covered 35,000 miles! It has seen one repaint, the interior is like new, only driven 2,000 miles since 2001, near perfect 49-year-old Ford Galaxie 500XL.

Body Condition: As stated, it’s had one repaint. All the chrome is near perfect and all the glass is original. The body lines are straight, but there is one small crease on passenger rear qtr panel.
The interior is like showroom condition, bucket seats with console

Mechanical Condition: The 352 V8 purrs like a kitten, new dual exhaust, brakes, shocks, tires, still have original bias ply spare in the trunk

Here’s a closer look at the 352 V8. It’s a little dusty but is ready to go as is. Overall, this really does appear to be a nice survivor and could be a fun machine to have. So, be sure to take a closer look and make David an offer via the form below!

Shortly after I got out of the army in May 67 my dad bought me a 65 Ford Custom 500, 4 door sedan. It had a 289 with three speed column shift with overdrive and ice cold a/c. I was a newly wed and that bench seat was quite nice at the drive in theater. Unfortunately I slid out of control on a gravel road hitting a power pole broadside bending the car in half. Now if this car were equipped with a/c I would be all over it.
    God bless America

This is a very nice car. I like the body style and the inside colors are great. Setup very nice all around. Good luck with the sale, wish it was to me.

Near perfect 54 year old Galaxie XL actually. Nice body style, decent power, one thing that never fails to amaze me on these old cars is the styling…inside an out. Completely foreign in today’s cars. Priced to sell.

Nice! I’d take this any day over that 240Z beater. I know, different group, but look at what you get, some money pit Z car, or one of the nicest Fords to come down the pike. Sure is a crazy hobby.

This is a very nice car. All I would do is detail the engine for car shows.

I’d take this any day over a comparable Chevy.

2000 miles since 2001? Be ready to make lots of repairs. Cars go to crap when they sit so long. Believe me, I know, I inherited a barn full. Love every one, but after sitting they all need work. It is a labor of love for me. But would make some people crazy.

Oh geez. . . This is my first car with the exception of the interior colour (mine had the aqua coloured interior). White over aqua, 352 4V, Cruise-O-Matic, dual exhaust, and whatever Ford called their “limited slip” rear end. Far more car than a boy of 16 ever really needed, but oh. . . How I miss that stupid thing.

    Tempted. . .

I’d swap the 352 for a newer, built 5.OL, 5 or 6 speed trans, better supporting rear end, disc brakes, newer suspension. Leave the body and interior as is. I like cars with ROOM inside and good performance. Today’s fuel squeezers are not very appealing and cost too much. And that’s my two cents worth.
