EXCLUSIVE: Big Block 1966 Ford Galaxie Convertible

Reader John C has decided it’s time to part ways with his Ford Galaxie 500. This Convertible is packing a big block 390 V8, which should be more than enough engine to cruise around with the top down! It isn’t perfect but is a driver as-is. If you’ve been on the hunt for a big block Ford that you can enjoy right now, be sure to message John via the form below!

What Makes It Special? It needs some minor things. It could benefit from a new top and possibly a repaint, but runs great as is. The engine, transmission, and brakes have already been rebuilt. It’s a driver, not a show queen, but is ready to go as is. There is a spot of rust and it could use some cosmetic work to be super nice. Will trade for a nice Mustang convertible or rebuildable Fastback or Convertible within reason, fairness, and equal trade apply guys. Please no boneheads or tire kickers! Thank you! The old car guy J!

Body Condition: The body is straight and looks decent, but a new paint job would take it to the next level.

Mechanical Condition: It has power everything, including seats, windows and Top! It’s got to go, as I’m moving and my new place doesn’t have room for it!

Overall, John’s Ford doesn’t look too bad. The 390 is a great engine and should get this big drop top-up to speed nicely. If you’d like more photos, have any questions or would like to make John an offer, be sure to use the form below to send him a message!

We just had our 50th last year and this car is almost a twin to the one we had. We drove it on our honeymoon to Canada.
