Anyone up for a road trip? We might be after getting this tip from reader Pat T about an upcoming salvage yard auction in Nebraska. The auction contains about 200 classic cars, ranging in age from the 30s up to the 70s.
Some of the more notable cars being offered include: 1952 Henry J. Corsaire Deluxe, 1952 Pontiac Woody Wagon, 1958 Chevrolet Yeoman 2 door wagon, and a 1972 Toyota LandCrusier. We are sure there are a few more good finds at this auction, since this salvage business has been accumulating cars for the last 50 years. Can you guys name any of the other notable cars in the pictures?
There appear to be quite a few cars that are in fair condition, but given that it’s a salvage yard don’t be surprised if many of the cars have been picked over. However, if you’re looking for a parts car or a new project this auction might be the place to get one.

Great story…love those photos. There is something compelling (from the shutterbug’s perspective) about shooting photos of rusted, patina cars from the 50-60’s. At dusk and dawn you get the softer, lower in the sky light from the sun……….and long shadows.

I was there at this sale to promote my new rotisserie the ROLLER-HOOP I didn’t need any more project cars! i had to many already! But the auction wasn’t going all that well no bids on the first five cars minamun of $250.00 if it had an eng the 6th car was a 59 Rambler wagon (with title!) I was 50 yards away but my hand went up and I won it for 350.00. Well if your there and you buy one….. you might as well make it worth your time I bought no wait I saved 13 cars and trucks that day! i stopped the auctioneer twice and addressed the crowd to BUY these cars don’t let them go to the crusher! I stayed away from the Impalas figuring they would sell for sure! about 4 of them got crushed they had perfect grills bumpers and not very rusty, dry western Neb. cars. it was a long couple weeks getting some of the cars back home 3 hrs away lucky for me i found buyers for a few before i even left that day to some guys showed up late. Hemmings published my report of the auction with some pictures of the after sale stack of unsold units waiting to get crushed! Sad times.
