Idaho Barn Finds: 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air

1954-chevrolet-bel-air-idaho-barn-find

I try to keep an eye out for interesting finds that pop up locally, even if they aren’t something I’d want to buy, I like to see what might be hiding just down the street. When I first came across this ’54 Chevrolet Bel Air, I didn’t give it too much thought. These are great cars, but they just aren’t as collectible as the Tri-Fives, but then I noticed that it’s listed right here in Boise, Idaho. Boy I’m glad I took a closer look at it! Hidden in this Idaho barn is not only the ’54, but a ’57 as well! And it sounds like the owner has a few other desirable classics. I’ve reached out to the seller to see if we can come look at it, but I haven’t heard back from them yet. You can take a closer look at their listing here on eBay in Boise, Idaho. They are asking $12k for the ’54 and no word on if or when the ’57 might come up for sale. I sure would love to stop by this barn and have a look!

The side trim indicates that the ’54 is 210 2 door post model ,not the more desirable Bel Air 2 door H’T . The ’57 is also a 210 model. Still interesting finds nevertheless .

That top picture gave me a start…it looks like a person in a raincoat slumped over the ’57 with their bare legs hanging down!

My first car was a 57 210, just like that! Same color and everything. Paid $50 for it in 1977. Fun car!

I’d take the 54 over the 57 I think they were a classy looking car and there is a lot less of them around. You good to a car show or a Wednesday night meat and great there is way more chance of see a row of 57’s. I would rather be the guy that has the earlier car without th big fins. It is my personal preference to like the late 40’s and early 50’s cars I just think those fat fendered beauties had more class, beside you could probably get the 54 for a cheaper price. Good find.

53 or 54 for sure over the tri-fives. Don’t care what model either. At this point, a 210 would be as much fun as a Bel Air.
