It’s Time For Lucky Auctions’ Spring Classic!

It’s official, Spring is here and so is the classic car auction season! That means it’s time to get your classics out for nice weather drives and if you don’t have one or need another, it’s time to start hunting. Each year our friends over at Lucky Auctions kick off the season with their Spring Classic and it looks like this year is going to be a good one! There are several survivors to be auctioned, including this ’57 Chevy Fuelie, and a number of other interesting cars and trucks. If you happen to be in Tacoma, Washington on May 12th and 13th, you will definitely want to attend this event! You can find more details and a full list of what’s going to be auctioned here at Lucky Auctions.

There are actually going to be two fuel-injected ’57 Chevys present at this auction. The Bel Air Survivor will likely fetch the most attention, but this 210 Fuelie could be a blast to have! It’s one of just ten ’57 Chevys four doors to be equipped with the fuel injection system. Sadly, the original engine, transmission, and injection system went missing years ago, but the seller did find a period correct 283 and a set of 997 heads for it. Now you just need to track down a Rochester fuel injection system and you’d have one heck of a family hauling classic!

If you prefer your Tri-Five in two-door wagon form, this ’56 Nomad is also heading to the auction block. It’s an older restoration but presents well. Nomad prices took a hit a few years back, but they seem to be making a bit of a comeback, so it will be interesting to see what this one ends up going for.

If Tri-Fives just aren’t your thing, don’t fear there are lots of other interesting cars that might grab your attention. Personally, I’m quite interested in this 1975 Datsun 280Z. They are decent sports cars and can be a blast to drive, but that’s not actually what initially caught my attention. This one is said to have just 6,000 original miles and the story is that the original owner got pregnant shortly after buying it and she didn’t feel comfortable driving it. With 240Z prices on the rise and the low mileage, I have a feeling this 280Z is going to do surprisingly well at the auction.

It looks like there’s going to be something for every taste available at this event. Other notable classics to keep an eye on are the 1922 Lincoln Touring Car, 1933 Diamond T, 1957 Facel Vega, 1962 Morgan 4/4, and the 1984 Ferrari 512 Boxer. Even if you aren’t in the market for a classic, this could be a fun event to attend just to have a look at all the cars and boats. If you happen to attend, we’d love to hear how it turns out! So are you going to be in Tacoma on the 12th?

Not a more-door guy, but bring a fuelie 210 with dog dishes.. That’s a cool car.

For me, a car with dog dish hub caps seems more legit and muscular than shiny chrome.

I feels the same way, I hold a 4 doors with distain, my father taught me that hate. But this is one awesome car that I’d love to own, if it fits in my garage ! :)

There are at least 3 here I’d love to attend the auction on with a pocket full of $$. Sorry but that BelAir really does a number for me, now if it only had the bullet bumpers on it.
