A very good Christmas to all on Barn Finds especially Howard who has driven everything under the sun except the Hubble Telescope, and the Moon Lander as far as we know.

Thanks, Robert, you got my number. Retirement is a time to reflect, and just by the nature of the jobs I had, all vehicle related in some way, one is bound to run the gamut, intentionally or not. (new)Boss hands me the keys, “can you handle it”?, they’d ask,, “Sure, same crap, different shovel”, I’d say, and go from there. Can’t do ANY of that today, mistakes weren’t the devastating misfortunes of today, and most of the “things” I drove, are no longer around, but yes, not much you could name that I haven’t driven.
Thanks for your input and knowledge on so many topics. I don’t mean to be pushy, but I simply don’t know who is going to carry on that info when we’re gone. These brats spending $4.6 MIL on a silly “Hemi Cuda”? Not bloody likely. Take care, pal.

I’d like to chime in with a big “Thank You” to the entire BF staff.

And how about a suggestion as well:
Pretty easy to see which of the features garners the most attention, simply by looking at the comments. Some have been pretty impressive, and continue on for quite a while.

So, how about instituting an awards program for the authors, beginning January, ending Christmas 2022? They could be simple based on numbers, (views, comments) or more creative. Commenters, how about suggestions for categories which would make sense?

    I’ll start:

    Most Controversial Listing!

    Most Creative Vehicle Description!

    Anyone?

Okay, as the new year approaches, let’s sing,,” Should auld( old) acquaintance be forgot,,”,,I know I grind some peoples gears here, and I’m GLAD, shows you’re alive in this sterile environment we call our “society”, we’ve so gradually gotten used to. Many here are like me, we simply come from a different time and were born 50 years too late. We’d have all loved to be young folks, in between Korea and Vietnam, say, 1954 to early 60’s, most of us were just kids, but we all knew someones older brother we got bad habits from.Hot Rods, lead sleds, CHROME, “Sock hops, soda shops, auto shop, BREAKIN’ ALL THE RULES”,,,yeah,,we missed all that.( except the breaking the rules, part) The fact we participate in computer related ventures at all, is so out of character for us. What holds us old farts together? This site, the “regulars” that share our many interests, and the writers, that not only feature visual reminders of our past, but a short history, in case one is unfamiliar with the vehicle. The stories THAT generates, are great. We’d like to think we were the only ones tinkering , but lo, we ALL did it! All the writers deserve a tip of the hat.
This site, unlike most others, is like a “club” of sorts. Used to be, we’d sit around a barrel heater, and BS until spring, maybe work on that wacky project that will no doubt be ridiculed by BF readers later,,,time marched on, and for whatever reason, financially, mostly, most, like me, are relegated to pushing buttons on a keyboard, with our fading memories and virtually arguing with Steve,,( just kidding, Steve, your knowledge adds a lot to this site) and I guess it beats a spot at the “starin’ window” at the old folks home.
You know, I used to say “Happy” New Year, but in these times, and anyone over 60 surely is shaking their heads too, who knows what “Happy” is? The “mishigosh”, ( craziness) is off the scale, stuff we never thought we’d see and I suppose, have a “safe” New Years is more applicable. Together, we’ll all watch the hobby escalate to heights us old farts never imagined. Peace, all,,,
