Reader Dustyn F has found another interesting barn find! This one is a ’57 Chevy and yes, it’s a 4 door, but it still looks like a great find! Here is what Dustyn has to say about it – Fast approaching 60 years old this Tri-Five is well on its way to becoming someones Sunday hotrod. These cars have a great following and tons of aftermarket support. Given the progress on this project finishing the restomod and taking advantage of the upcoming summer should be a cake walk. My first car was a 57 Chevy 210 4 door, 235 Auto. Paid $50 for it, in 1977. Needed a lot of work, especially the interior. Interesting to note that cars last so much longer now, and hold up so much better. Many 20 year old cars on the road today are in great shape, with just basic maintenance.
Right?! Whenever someone says they don’t build them like they used to, my usual reaction is “good!”
Did the seller plan to use it in winter? There’s a snow plow that looks ready to mount laying in front of the frame rails.
If you read the Craigslist page the chap says the ‘we took the front clip apart three years ago.’ but then he states that it is his daughter’s car ‘and she does not have time to put it back together again’, so he wants it out of his shed.
Seems to me that whomever took it apart should be the one to put it all back together again. Other than that it looks like a good deal, but I would talk the guy down even more for not bothering to do a little work to put it all back where he took it apart.
