A Ford Mustang in today’s terms is quite a common car. However, in 1972, while still having a pony like name, the car had grown to do battle against other pony and muscle cars by Chevrolet and Dodge. This 1972 Mustang Mach 1 is rough around the edges, but has soul and potential. Sitting as someone’s wishful project, they have thrown in the towel and are willing to part with it. You can visit the listing here on eBay.
Under the hood sits a V8 351 Cleveland with a FMX automatic transmission. There are 81,015 miles on the odometer. The listing says the motor does turn over and start. No word on if it moves under its own power. A fraction of the original 266 horsepower would be enough to get it rolling.
Painted in blue with a blue interior, a decent cleaning inside and out would get the car more presentable and tolerable to sit in. All the glass and trim are in good shape. It will need new front end parts including headlights. A new bumper and grill should be ordered as well.
The seller of this vehicle is located in Colorado. If you Google the VIN, you will find pictures of the car from a few years ago. The rusted hole in the driver side front fender and rip in the driver seat are clear indications it is the same car. It was in better condition then and was sold from Wisconsin at that time.
Well, that’s a shame.
Well, it’s a total disaster.
Too far gone, IMO…
What can I say. Hey buddy, Can you help a fellow American with some Mustang part’s.
Someone rode this pony hard and put it away wet years ago.
Nice rust for a rado car.
188k or 1188000 miles either way it rougggghhhhhh😮
I love ponies but this one needs a complete work over …
It’s a parts car. If you can get it for 50% of the value of the major components it might be worth a shot.

They shoot horses right?
that e-bay link takes us to a whole other listing for a Mach 1 that the guy starts at 7K.
It’s not the guy’s fault. FleaBay started this new policy where you can’t see completed auctions, instead, they direct you to something “similar”. If you look again, you’ll see this posting at the top: “The listing you’re looking for is no longer available. Check out this similar item we found for you.”
If you click on the “listing” in the banner across the top, it is a link that will take you to the original listing.
eBay pisses me off everything has a reserve if u are gonna auction something it should be sold a what someone is gonna pay for it not your over inflated Barrett Jackson dream price…
