Ever sit and wonder how some cars meet their fate? Well someone along the line parked what is a fairly complete 1969 Mach 1 outdoors, and even took the time to carefully remove the carb and tape the intake shut on the engine. Fast forward a few decades and you are left with this project grade car that still holds promise, but imagine if the owner had simply put it indoors. Never the less, this Mach still has potential and may very well have its original drive train still in place. With a few days remaining, this Mustang has crept up to $4,050. There is still a 351 V8 under the hood but there is no detail given on this engine. One would hope it to be the factory numbers matching drive train, but that information is not given. I would assume that since the seller went to the trouble to get a Marty report that he would have taken the time to “up value” the car by saying its numbers matching if this is was the original drive train. Although dirty and covered with what looks to be pine needles, the engine compartment isn’t nearly as rusty as I was expecting it to be. I don’t know that I hold any hope for the engine’s condition, but you never know. It may not be seized up.
It would appear that most of the interior is still with the car, although not properly installed. Portions of the dash are missing, and the carpet is long gone. The back seat is still in place and has some friendly vegetation growing on it.
Although this Ford has spent time outdoors, there are some highlights to this muscle machine. The seller has taken a few photos of the floors where little rust can be seen, granted the photos only show small portions of the under body. Most if not all of the exterior pieces and parts are in place, but with good comes bad as well. There is some rot on this Mach, and the worst of it appears to be around the windshield. Also the front edge of the hood and the passenger side rear wheel arch are a bit crispy. With the current bid price, this Mach seems like a deal, and could remain a reasonable one as the auction continues. What do you think this Mach will sell for?

With 1 day left and at $4,050.00 I think your right it is a deal if it stays there. Either restore to a restomod / original or even parting it out would be a fun project just costly and time consuming on the first two. 69’s when done command the good money, why I don’t know because except for the headlights / taillights / side scoops / Windsor instead of Cleveland and the woodgrain on the interior they are the same as 70.
Shame to see it like this, windows open and the pine needles probably caused the floor rust. As all rustangs inspection is a must. might be enough there to fix. Cant understand why there aren’t many pics of the lower qtrs. etc. That rust in the roof scares me. Good luck to the new owner.

I understand parking the car. I don’t understand taking out the seats and door panels then just throwing them back into the car.

I Had a red and Black 69 Mach 1 like this and a Blue and Silver 70 model one also along with 38 other Muscle cars in my collection for several years Back in 1975 to about 79 before I started selling them off. They were all still in nearly New like condition sadly I couldn’t keep them all until they really became Valuable as they are now. I have alway enjoyed restoring Muscle cars and old trucks. LOL, I have been trying to quit my addiction to Old cars and trucks and am Finally down to about 20 or so now But all the restored and Best ones have been long gone.
