This is a different take on a Corvette than my past articles. For sale is a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible with factory air conditioning. It has a current bid price of $50,300 with the reserve not yet met. Mileage is listed at 59,700 and the VIN is listed. This numbers matching Vette is located in Boca Rotan, Florida, and is for sale on eBay.
Under the hood sits a 327 cubic inch V8 that should be good for 300 horsepower. It is connected to a Powerglide automatic transmission. The seller is very keen on the details about the air conditioning, including the fact it has the original A/C compressor and brackets, even down to the instruction sticker in the glove box.
The interior is completely original. So far the car has only had three owners and has spent most of its days in Georgia. This is the third attempt at selling on eBay. The reasons why are noted in the listing, but you might want to keep that in mind before bidding. If this car is indeed as rare as it is claimed to be, then you might want to go see it before purchasing.
In the listing, the seller decodes the entire VIN to match how rare having air is on this car. The seller states that they have not yet had the car inspected by an NCRS judge. If the car does not sell then they will have the car judged. If it is found to be a Top Flight or Second Flight, then they will relist the car and adjust the price accordingly.
First year for this style, thanks to Zora Arkus- Duntov.
Best style of all the Corvettes.
Don’t find white does the C2 justice regardless of configuration. Their styling really comes to life in darker colours.. Obviously just my opinion.
I rank the C2 as the coolest generation of a car that I could care less about. That said, I would rank white as one of the better colors. But then, I’m obviously not in tune with the Corvette crowd.
The original ones were white, so I would say you are in tune.
Colour is a personal choice, what the “corvette crowd” thinks is irrelevant, except possibly, for resale value.
I love the 63 Corvettes, just not a convertible fan. Not a white car fan either but this one sure is nice.
Nice car. Well written ad, the seller lays out a convincing case for a high valuation with a detailed description and well thought out selection of pictures. More sellers should take note and put effort into their ads especially with a high asking price.

Agreed, refreshing to see a well informed seller with such attention to detail whose also articulate.
Am I buying an A/C system with the car thrown in? Lots of focus on the A/C in the ad.
Lovely car either way.
I think there were only about 200 ’63’s built with factory air, almost all coupes. That is probably why he wants you to know it.
278 to be exact. NCRS claims the convertibles were less than 50 to be made with AC.
Okay it’s got A/C. Now what about the irregular line across the top of both front wheel openings? A front clip replacement from the same era as the bad paint?
I agree with Mike: it’s got A/C along with various some repaint. The overspray on the lower front and side bumper brackets, the fender lips (due to the ET style mags?), the black lip on the body where the hood sits, etc. Nice car but NCRS Second Flight? Nah.
This car will probably bring $60+. Compare it to the brown SWC which, by looking at the pictures, is a NCRS survivor.
NCRS 2nd Flight is not that tough to achieve at what is known as a Chapter Meet. Chapter Meets are less intense than a Regional Meet and way less intense than a National Event. Many of the judges at a Chapter Meet are inexperienced and the focus is on helping folks learn about their cars if they intend to pursue higher levels of judging. I had a 1979 2nd Flight minus the smog system and with bright yellow Bilstein shocks that were obviously not from the factory.
Must be a scam: Everyone knows it’s, “Boca Raton”
Oh yeah? Everyone knows it’s “Gyromoto”
Must be a scam: Everyone knows it’s, “Boca Raton.”
I’ve wanted a C2 convertible since I was a little boy. Love the year, model, colors are good (even if not my first pick), manual transmission, 327 v8, convertible, and with AC. Having a hard time with the estimated $60k+ price tag for a car that is in need of even a partial restoration. I could see it if this car was close to perfect condition, but there are nicer cars out there for that kind of money. $60k is a lot of money whether you are a doctor or not. I’m sure hobbyists are quite familiar with restoration costs and parts prices today. Done, this car easily will have over the $100k mark hit to your wallet.
Needs a 4 speed swap for me. Probably a luggage rack so you could go some where further than across town and have some gear. I wonder what the numbers are, air with manual vs air with powerglide?
White is classy IMHO. AC a definite plus making this a rare ride. I have a red on red, white top 2001 convertible that looks terrific in my eyes, but I love this ‘63.
Someone told me the other day that all early Corvettes with white paint had a red gut ???
@Dom- True for 1953. White, red interior, black top. Could also be true for 1954. I think the first year for optional colors was 1955. Red, black, and maybe blue were available. I was two years old at the time so I could be wrong.
Thanks Frank…
Why doesn’t the seller have the car judged by an NCRS judge prior to listing it for sale. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this threat of a price increase based on possible (unlikely) future findings. What BS!
The owner could enter it in an NCRS meet and have it judged. He would then have a document worth as much as the paper and ink it was printed with and an equivalent value added to the car.
Sorry about replying to myself, but I am wondering if he will lower the price if he gets a Third Flight? That is the NCRS “Participation Trophy”
Early C3 build quality was bad to poor at best. The car is super rare and one of my personal favs!
True, early (and even later) C3 build quality was not great, but not sure what that has to do with this car.
Did the seller mention that this car has original A/C?
We he is fortunate as we have some great chapter judges in FL and a 40 year regional coming up in FL. Now a is nice but not going to bring this up to SWC pricing in today’s market. Low horse power and auto will chase many a buyer a way. Still a nice car.
Nice car, except the barf colored paint. I love rag tops but I would prefer the fast back 63 with the split window in back – in blue or black paint with black interior. No side pipes, exhaust out back. And I can do without the “rare” AC. Its a convertible! Put the top down if you want AC! And a 4 speed – not the 2 spd powerglide. How is this is a barnfind? Looks like its been well cared for since it left the show room in 1963..
When I was 25 I bought a 63 convertible just like that one for $7,500 I was too young to appreciate what I had I should never have gotten rid of it I also sold my 65 now that I can appreciate what I have I can’t afford to buy one out of my price range
