I’ve often heard stories about my grandfather’s 1957 Chevrolet Nomad. What I would give to have that car now, heck I’d just be happy to know where it is! Reader Jordan K is helping with his grandfather’s estate, so they are selling his 1958 Cadillac. It needs some work, but looks like a very solid car that doesn’t need much to be a driver. It’s a bit sad to see grandpa’s Cadillac go, but hopefully, it goes to a good home with a Barn Finds Reader!
Asking Price: $12,500

Nice Cadillac. It should be noted, however, this is a Series Sixty-Two Sedan, not a DeVille. Being almost 9″ shorter than the DeVille (or Sixty-Two Extended Deck) some will consider this a more desirable car.
From the seller’s ad: “Quick sale, thousands under book value.” I wonder what book that would be. In my book, its a $6 – 8k car, as it sits. And only if the chrome is really nice and free of pitting or rust.
I’m no expert in Cadillacs (I did own a ‘60 at one time), but I don’t think the price is too far off the mark if the car is as solid and smooth-running as stated. It seems like it was well taken care of, try to find another one this nice in the same price range.
Wish I had the cash for this one. My BIL
and I would a fly in, drive home deal after
getting the brakes serviced. Just buff out
the paint, drive and enjoy it as is. To me,
it would be most refreshing to see this
less-than-perfect car being shown at our
monthly car show or being cruised through the streets of Old Town, an
entertainment complex near the town of
Kissemee, Fl. I’d like it even better if I
were the owner/caretaker showing it!
Barn Finds. It’s where our dreams are formed. Oh to get even a 100k lottery ticket.
@ metoo, yep, you hit the nail on the head, all I can say is ME TOO !
Looks like he has another on sale on eBay too
Yep, it could be a good opportunity for a Cadillac fan. Make him an offer and get two 1958 Cadillacs!
Nicest Caddy, for sure. Gramps knew what to drive. Why are the words “to be” always are skipped? 4 more letters too much?
the only ad i get is one for a newer cadillac
You gotta click on the hilighted
“Listing ” in that newer car listing & the listing for the ’58 will appear.
Nice caddy. I am surprised the fins seem a bit understated for that year. I guess the huge ones came later. But hey, gotta love those “Dagmars”. As someone mentioned in a earlier comment, it is 9 inches shorter than other models at the time. Not much, but it would still make this land yacht a little bit easier to park.
ebay ad shows it as sold
Yes, it sold. But don’t worry- seller listed ANOTHER 1958 Cadillac.

Reminds one of that really creep X-Files episode…
If anyone is interested, the green one can still be yours, albeit at an inflated (dealer’s) price 😒
