After finishing the restoration of this one ton Ford about 20 years ago, it was parked and that’s where it’s stayed ever since. Douglas has decided it’s time to finally let it go and is looking for a good home for it. It’s going to need some work after being parked but could be a good project if you’ve been on the hunt for a classic work truck. He’s asking $3,500 but would be willing to work out a trade for a Chevrolet Tahoe. If you’re interested, be sure to take a look at his ad via the link below!

Asking Price: $3,500
Location: Eden, New York
Title Status: Clean

Seller’s Description: This truck was restored over 20 years ago, but it has been sitting ever since. The engine turns over but does not run or drive. Will likely need a full restoration.

Body Condition: The hood is off the truck (had a frozen hinge and ripped the sheet metal where the hinge sits). Has no tailgate. The bed is in need of some repairs (rust) but is in pretty good shape otherwise. I have all interior
part & some extra front grill parts.

Mechanical Condition: The engine turns over but does not run or drive. 3 on the tree but the clutch is frozen. Has a Posi rear end and 292 engine. Brake will need to be gone through.

Holy snapping arsholes batman that is one ugly colour…..!!!
As far as I can remember the 292cid is a gm engine size and a 300 CID is a Ford engine size, its likely a 300 CID. Other than the assault on your eyes from the colour the truck looks fairly solid but unless you like driving around town with a paper bag over your head you better plan a total repaint. If I restored a truck and painted it this colour I’d have stuffed into a barn too. JMHO.

The 300 came out in ’65, and the V8 was a 292 Y block. Nice truck, but I agree, some leftover paint from some other project,,,like the garage.

It aint easy being green. The Ford V8 Y- block was a 292 and later 312 cu. in. et al, engines. Solid lifter engines could be set with the thickness of a hack saw blade.

      Ford had a 292 v8 and a 312 v8 the 292 gm was a6 cyl.

Restored 20 years ago? It looks like the only thing that happened 20 years was it got a bad paint job with a very ugly color.

Not attempting to sound snarky, but : restored 20 years ago ? Missing tailgate, hood hinge frozen, hood ripped, breaks don’t work and engine not operable? Doesn’t sound like a 20 year old restore, just got a snazzy new paint job.

The extra rib on the front fender says f250. Possibly.

Wonder if the guy worked for a Deutz/Allis dealer 20 years ago. Lots of paint that color then. And contrary to what canadainmark says, ‘you drive the green slime proudly. Everyone is going to notice you so you might as well make the best out of it. Maybe put some Witch Hazel decals on the doors. Aside from that I like the truck. Good solid machine (with the exception of the hood of course).

Paint the bumpers silver and upgrade to some chrome rims, the green would become less intense on the eyes. Sitting for 20 years is less desirable than the colour, IMHO.

I was thinking chromed bumpers, and a two toned paint job.
