There was a gold one local when new. It beat everything there was on the street.

My favorite year Firebird. Pontiac really did a fine job in 1969…way better than Chevrolet did with the Camaro

Kevin, you have confused me? I went to the listing, it is an auction….., I don’t see the ….it’s worth every penny of the “asking price”??

Maybe I missed it…..what is the “buy it now” “asking price”?

Sorry. Did not read it carefully enough! Just saw $24K. With 15 hours left it should go way higher!

Great Car. I am a semi-expert on 67-69 Firebirds but I don’t know it all. reading some of the listing comments.

The Rubber Arrowhead on the front bumper (which did have holes in the bumper to attach) (cars without the option had a bumper like this that is smooth/no holes) as I know it is to designate a Pontiac, Firebird specifically in this case, was optioned with the “Sport Options Group” which were mostly trim items such as the grab handle over the glove box (which is an option), visor vanity mirrors (very rare), remote mirror (again rare) and possibly related to deluxe interior, exterior wheel opening and rocker trim etc.

The spoiler on the car I do believe is the correct one however I do believe it should have a 400 badge on the right rear corner. a 400 without the spoiler would have had the 400 badge on the right rear corner of the trunk.

On the 67 the Safe T Track put one factory traction bar on the drive wheel as POSI was not at option. 67 had the mono leaf springs factory. Rear end had a mount for 2 traction bars but again, only one installed on the drive wheel. not sure, as per one of the listing comments, that this changed in 68 & 69. I believe it could have as the mono leaf was not great. I change mine out to multi leaf.

Not sure of the market on this car right now. Seems to be super clean. AC is a rare option. 4 speed is rare and desirable. if mileage is that low AND original/documents I would believe this to be a $50K car. If not the right mileage, $40K plus.

My favorites are the 67-68. I had a 67 400 Convertible, automatic unfortunately, with AC and more options, including power windows (4% of all production) than this one with 50K orig doc miles in just about #1 condition. Had to let it go during the recession for 35K. Should have been $50K. Today maybe a $50-60K car as a convertible and a real 400.

This is a real beauty. I didn’t know they had a factory color in this color. Makes you wonder why they weren’t all this color.

If I could ever get my hands on something this nice, I’d be done looking for cars. I would have what I want.

Now this is what I am talking about! This is when GM knew how to make a great car! Not so much anymore tho! Beautiful car! Even to a dedicated Ford fanatic like myself! Beautiful car!

A classmate had this in a lighter green color, and it was indeed fast.

But really, have we not learned anything in the last 50 years? An underside photo shows the exhaust system ending Just in front of the rear axle. I can’t tell you how dangerous that is for the occupants of the car, even while driving down the road. I speak from experience. I was in the back seat during a trip from Dayton to Cincinnati. I began to feel ill, and asked that the windows be rolled down, That may have saved me from a terrible fate, I had headaches for days afterwards.

Anytime an exhaust ends underneath a car, the people inside can be at risk from CO poisoning. This car needs to have a proper system installed, which exits out the back! If you buy it, don’t drive it until that is done.

The auction is almost over, but every time someone raises the bid with fewer than two minutes left, the clock goes back to two minutes again. What kind of an auction is that?

It’s called a “soft ending” auction. That way no one can lay back and snipe it in the closing seconds. It’s the way all auctions should run…unless you’re a sniper that is :)

This car is just plain beautiful I would bet it’s going to go for at least 50k or better, there just aren’t many like this for sale anymore!

Car is sold. I like that the clock starts over with 2 more minutes, keeps serious bidders from getting blocked out. These are great cars, I owned one back in the early 70’s, it was yellow with black vinyl top and American racing wheels. Had the high output 400 with turbo 400 trans and A/C. Loved that car, but time goes on. Had many cars since then, all have great memories.

Looks like is sold for $29,500 which was a VERY good deal on that car. I owned 2 69’s, just to restore them and sell them. Personally not my favorite year or car BUT that was a very nice car and a really good buy at 30K. Well done.

29.9 is a great deal–it would cost that much to bring a worn out one back to this condition. Of course buyer beware and you would need a good inspection, Common sense I know. caveat Emptor.

Good luck to the new owner!!!

Can anyone confirm if that’s the original steering wheel? I don’t remember seeing that wheel on any if the ’60’s Firebirds.
