Wow that’s steep for this body style .

Good luck on your “rare” car👀

Glad we staid out of to much weeds on one ofs here.

Low mikes makes it desirable but never was my body style during the fox body years.
I could spend 20s on a fastback classic or a newer convert in lieu of this myself

I guess I’m confused. What makes this a special edition?

      hello…..!
did you not see the green paint?
      or the white top?
clearly both are VERY special, right?

So is this the hot one ☝️ lol

      Nice read but not interested…

“To this day, there are still a few of the original 7 Ups on the road. In January 2013, one was stolen in Colorado Springs, Colorado — video of the theft made a minor viral sensation in automotive blogs, briefly renewing interest in this forgotten piece of Mustang history.”

I’m not a huge fan of this body style, but I gotta say this is very nice. Great Summer cruiser with the top down, plenty of power (with the potential of much more), low miles, and extremely clean. Kudos to the owner for such great maintenance, and good luck to the new owner.

Actually according to the article Dean posted he is not asking much over what the car cost new and when you add inflation he actually may be taking a loss. Regardless it is a part of Mustang’s history and a beautiful car for it’s age. I like it and I’m no vert fan.

Fox bodies, depending on year and options, have been steadily appreciating, especially some of the specialty models like this one.

Might seem a bit overpriced now, but that’s awfully low mileage if someone can afford to buy it and put it away for another 10 years or so.

I guess I am the minority here, but the engine compartment and undercarriage of this car does not present as a 6,200 mile car. IMO, it looks more like 106k. It is a shame if Ford couldn’t build a car that would not leak and corrode so much in such a short amount of miles… I understand that time takes its toll, but damn…

Right, should look way better, I mean it’s only 28 years old.

“few of them still on the road…”
Repeated, prolonged lol’s. Hell, belly laughs. These cars were marketed as “collectibles” and most if not all of them were put away and preserved.

Funny. I have a 92 LX Summer Edition in one year only Vibrant Red with a 5 speed, making it one of 727 when built…. and I’m selling for about half of this. Granted, needs a cut and buff and a new top, but that’s 4 hours of elbow grease and 500 bucks… The market is no where near this level for the SE fox bodies. Maybe in 10 more years.

Yeah but how green is the red paint on your car?

Less green than the featured one I bet.

Todd, how does the top work and what condition is the fabric in after all these years with no use?

It really is a lovely example of a lovely car.
I always enjoyed seeing them back in the day.
But I’ve got a thing for green & Ford got this shade just right.
Wouldn’t be super surprised if it brings close to your asking price as hot as Fox Mustangs are lately.

If I recall, there was no 7-Up Special Edition. The promotion was cancelled before it ever got off the ground. Ford still made the color combo with the ’87- GT wheels for 1990.

I prefer the 1992 Limited Edition in red or even the 1993 Limited Editions in white or yellow as they have the rear spoiler instead of the ugly luggage rack of the green 1990, plus the 5-spoke wheels over the turbine wheels.

I guess you either “get” these or you don’t as they aren’t much different from other LX 5.0 verts. The Emerald Green of the “7-Up” cars outnumbered every other 1990 LX 5.0 vert color by more than 2 to 1 and you could get the same Emerald Green/White interior/White top in a ’91 or ’92 LX 5.0 vert, both of which are much, much rarer than these. The only difference is the ’91 and ’92 have the Titanium-colored console and dash plastics instead of the white plastic of these cars. And of course didn’t have the GT Turbines. Not a big difference, IMHO.
