While recently running errands, I spotted several ’50s GM trucks parked alongside the road. I’ve noticed the collection of projects in the owner’s yard before, but I hadn’t ever noticed the for sale sign. Classic trucks have become quite popular and these ones looked like they could make for decent projects, so I stopped and grabbed some photos. The seller’s sign doesn’t offer any information or pricing, but it does include their phone number and the year of each truck!
Both trucks are missing their engines and interiors, plus there’s no word on whether they have titles. If the seller does have titles for them and their prices are realistic, these could actually prove to be great trucks to build. There’s a guy not far from where these trucks are parked here in Boise that specializes in modifying ’50s GM trucks with second-generation Camaro front ends. Given the lack of engines, these trucks seem like the perfect candidates for this kind of build. Just think about how much fun they would be to cruise around in with disc brakes, power everything, and a 350 V8!
Here is the seller’s phone number. If you decide to give them a call, let us know what you find out and if you are going to buy one or both! Personally, I want to know more about the other vehicles that are parked in their field.
If you’ve spotted something interesting along the side of the road, grab some photos and send them our way. You can send them to us at mail@barnfinds.com!
The parts could be a nice find in the foreground for the right person or good donor material for a patch job,, Building a vintage body style on a newer chassis and powertrain is the way to go, especially if you retain or get title to the original body.
(Maybe Idaho doesnt care,, but in parts of Oregon, anything newer than 1975 needs periodic inspections) so slap that body on somethat that moves, corners and actually stops when you hit the brakes.
But I spy with my little eye what appears to be a 64-67 GMC or Chevy pickup in that row in the distance,, tell me more, tell me more! (I have a 65 GMC project) I once spent time in Idaho in the military, and good project donors up there. (Good climate for it)
I once almost owned a 58 Apache! I was young and didn’t know any better, but I was making payments to the guy! After I made a few payments he tells me that he doesn’t have a title! I was very upset about it and I just gave it back to him! Wished that he would have just been honest!
