One of my favorite activities while on vacation is hunting for classic cars. You are in a new place, there could be something interesting around every corner and you actually have time to just wander around looking. Well, just like me, reader Jeffrey E likes to hunt while he is on vacation too and he just sent in some of his most recent Roadside Sightings! He’s currently vacationing in the Olympic Peninsula of Washington and came across a few finds he thought we might all enjoy.
From Jeffrey E – While vacationing in the Olympic Peninsula I had the good fortune to spot a few classics I thought others may enjoy.
The 55 Nomad was on highway 101 just north of Quilcene, WA. I missed the phone number in my photos but the seller indicated the price was variable depending on the number of the many restoration parts he has collected wanted with the purchase. A new floor pan is laying over the hole were the original floor once existed. Needs welded yet!
The next spotting was a nice early Ford pickup with an $18,000 price, no details phone # 360-681-4882. The truck is located in Sequim WA.
The last goody was a flock of Morris Minor models for multiple prices and phones numbers. The lot is on WA route 20 on the south end of Port Townsend WA. A sign on the lot for an office in the same building had the website “porttownsendrealestate.net” that probably could provide contact information.
Our thanks to Jeff for sending his sightings in! If you spot something interesting while on vacation, snap some photos and send them to us at mail@barnfinds.com so we can share them with your fellow readers.
The 55 is a handyman special two door wagon. The Nomad had a custom door and side window treatment as well as full open rear wheel wells. Nice wagon though
Yep. Plus ribbed roof & vertical chrome strips on the tailgate. (Wasn’t the tailgate sloped more as well?) Agree, this would be a nice runner up to a Nomad.
Yes, the Nomad tailgate had a much more pronounced slope.
I like the 55 wagon and the Ford truck, I wouldn’t fit in a Morris Minor, so they don’t even register.
I really like the profile view of the 2dr 55 wagon, it just seems cleaner than the same year Nomad especially when the rear wheel wells are factored into the equation. I hope it finds a good home.

Twenty years ago I sold a bunch of Morris parts to a guy in Port Townsend – I’ll bet he’s the same guy connected with these cars. A great place to tour and vacation in the summer!
I think I’ve been looking for cars since I could see out the window, I remember seeing many cars in garages and for sale, the thing is my father would never stop to look. If he did I’d probably own 25-50 cars !
So, the floor pan NEEDS TO BE WELDED?
Thank you.
I saw the same Morris Minors only a few weeks ago! I’ve been doing a few roadside find pics my self while doing a USA road trip
