Rusty Coupe: 1926 Ford Model T

1926 Ford Model T

I’m not so sure that this Model T Coupe project will warm me up this winter, but it still could be fun! For a car covered in rust, it actually looks to be solid and the seller even went to the lengths of removing the body so you can see the chassis and drivetrain! I guess there really isn’t much to these cars, so taking the body off isn’t that big of a deal, but I wish we could see this kind of detail with every find. The seller is also keen to point out the bullet holes in the doors, but admits he doesn’t know if there is a cool story behind them. If you think this would be a perfect project for you, you can find it here on eBay in Saint Louis, Missouri with bidding still under $2k.

I can see a lot of potential options for this T. You could fully restore it back to original condition, it could be left looking rough but made into a safe driver or you could turn it into a hot rod. I have a feeling which ever direction you go with it, it’s going to be a lot of work but incredibly cool when it’s finished. Personally, I would build it into a period correct hot rod! What about you though? We all have different tastes, so it would be interesting to hear what you would do to it!

If I were still a real youngin’, I’d buy it, sell off the chassis, engine, ‘n ‘stuff’, ‘n HotRod it.. Tall all-steel T’s make kewl looking Street Rods, such as this one.. 【ツ】

Too nice and complete to rod, to rough to restore, what this car says to me is to get it roadworthy, throw in some glass and drive it as-is. It would draw a crowd everywhere it went.

I love Model T hot rods too, but I probably would start with a different one.

I love it. If it were mine, I’d build an old funky barn just to park it in, and enjoy the reactions of folks when they discovered it.
