Stored For 30 Years: 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Disclosure: This site may receive compensation from some link clicks and purchases.

It seems like everyone and their brother has a first generation Camaro. But not everyone and their brother has a true Super Sport first generation Camaro. This one, submitted by reader Ikey H and found here on Craigslist, looks to be in the latter group of early Camaros.

This Camaro is located in Stanwood, Washington, but is said to have been retrieved from Reno, Nevada. Apparently, it has been off the road since 1981 and in storage for the last 30 years. The six or so years from road use to storage weren’t very friendly to the little comrade. There is no mention of rust in the listing but there appears to be some in the floorboards and at least some on the surface of the exterior.

The seller states that this very complete and all-original Super Sport still has its numbers matching 350 small block and four-speed transmission. This will definitely add to the value to the car for whoever decides to take it on as a project.

There are so many first-generation Camaros on the street that completing a restomod on one isn’t a cardinal sin. But this one should be kept true to what it was from the factory with its originality still intact. This one certainly looks like a great candidate for a complete restoration. So, here’s the big question: is the $10,000 asking price reasonable for this original Super Sport Camaro project?

The posting is down, which is too bad because it looked intriguing.

I just learned of the passing of a man who owned the most optioned 1968 SS/RS Camaro that I’ve ever seen. It started its life a dealer demonstration car. He owned it since 1978 but fell on hard times in his final years before dying at age 57 in June. I’ve wondered where it ended up but did not feel right contacting the family.

Silly me, I was pondering what a ladder group was. It ain’t grammar. Just plain old spelling. Spelling counts.

Yeah, I saw this ad over a week ago since I’m local and thought about calling, But for me, the $10K w/rusted floors wasn’t worth it. If it was a 4 speed, then sure. It sat for a while. I’ll bet that a Barnfinds reader saw the ad before it showed up here and then jumped on it when it went national. Just a guess……

I dont believe Chevrolet made a 350 cid motor in 1967 . I would of had to be a 327 cid small block motor!! To be matching numbers

Pretty certain 67 was 1st year for both the Camaro and the 350. 327 still available as well.

Heck my vista cruiser was in better shape and they crushed it !!! 1 st gen camaro 350 three pedals looked to be a nice project for a father and son to work with. If it was purchased less then asking here, all the better.

The ’67 Camaro was the only vehicle Chevy put their new 350 in, in 1967.
