Reader Tom L recently sent us this tragic find. A friend of Tom’s spotted a classic car while out on a drive in Oregon and told Tom about it, so he went to take a look. What Tom found shocked him.
When Tom arrived he found this old car sitting on a rusty trailer. It was a Jaguar XKE FHC! This Jaguar E-Type is definitely a Series I car, but we aren’t too sure on the exact year. Any ideas of the exact year of this car? It’s sad to see a such an iconic automobile in this kind of shape.
Whoever put this car on this trailer must have gotten side tracked with their plans. The car has been sitting outside for so long that the tarp that was covering it rotted away leaving the car exposed to the elements.
This car is very rusted underneath, but it might be restorable or at least used for parts. About all we know about this car is that it’s located near Goble, Oregon. We would love to see someone get this car and do something with it. If anyone has any more information about this car please let us know. Thanks to Tom for sharing this find with us.
Definitely Series I, but without chassis number or engine number can’t tell what year-other than not early outside latch so somewhere between 62-67.
The bible, if you plan to do it at homehttp://www.mckennasgarage.com/xke/index.htm
Well at least it is up off the ground.
Up off the ground and closer to Jaguar heaven.
Here in the Northeast we never find anything like this ,,,XKE ‘s have always been the ultimate to me ,,growing up with Jan and Dean,,or the Beach Boys,,,Grew up with a love for these cars ,,,If you find anymore ,,Keep me in mind..Thanks Tom….Maine has way to much salt….
Hey, Barnfinds, I get 2 or 3 notices a day about a new comment here, and there isn’t one. Please fix this!
Sorry about that Ron. We are working on it.
I think we finally have the notification problems all fixed. We will keep an eye on it though. Thanks!
I’m with Ron I’ve been getting these notifications also.
WHERE IS THIS JAG?!? My father in law is looking for a series 1 to restore, this looks like a perfect candidate.
PLEASE could you set me up with details on this find as I am needing a donor car to finish my project … a phone number OR E.Mail address would be fabulous , thank you for your time .
Looks like a 64 or 65 series I… No rear protector between the bumpers. Looks like the bonnet, door skins and probably rockers need to be replaced…
