Things sure have changed this year! Most major automotive events were put on hold, auctions canceled, and many of us are working from home. Thankfully, the internet makes virtual events possible and while it isn’t quite the same as attending an event in person, it’s better than nothing. One event that we are glad to see continue through these tough times is the Lucky Collector Car Classic Auction. This year’s Fall Classic is coming up the 29th and 30th of August and they will be offering online and phone bidding. You can view what all is being auctioned off this year here on Lucky Collector Car Auctions and you can register to bid online here on ProxiBid.
There are lots of great auctions that happen each year, but what makes this one standout is the variety of cars. From a fully restored Porsche Speedster to a chrome bumper Pantera and even some barn find Auto Unions, there’s a little bit of something for everyone!
As great and valuable as both the Speedster and Pantera are, I’d actually be happy to even have this 1970 Lotus Elan S3. Don’t get me wrong, if I could have the other two, I’d love to have them as well, but the Lotus is an automotive icon that would be an absolute joy to have. This one appears to be a little rough around the edges but would make for a great driver that you could enjoy without having to worry about rock chips and scratches. It will be interesting to see how much it goes for! Oh, and if you prefer your Elan with a roof and a back seat, this 1971 Lotus Elan +2 might be worth a look.
In these turbulent times, it’s nice to have something to look forward to. While we won’t be able to attend this auction in person, we will definitely be watching our favorite finds to see how bidding goes! Be sure to take a look and see if there’s something here that you’d love to have.
