Weekend Reader Finds: April 14, 2014

Reader Finds 4-14-2014

There were some interesting finds sent in over the weekend. Whether you’re into Classic Americans, European Micro Cars, or stretched trucks we think there is something you’ll find interesting in this group. Several of these cars are ready to be driven and enjoyed. If you are looking for a convertible for those summer evenings, take a look at the MG Midget, Ford Mustang, Chevy Bel Air, or Simca Oceane. If you want the feeling of a drop top, but something quirky have a look at the Citroen 2CV or the Fiat Topolino. If you need to carry the whole family and the neighbors, check out the Chevy Stageway Conversion. It was apparently used in Jackson, Wyoming for taking tours in the Tetons. It might not be the most fun to drive in this group, but you could just about fit all the micro cars here in it! Let’s not forget about the Volvo 242, it might not be the flashiest car of the group, but it’s easily the most practical and would run forever! Thanks to everyone that submitted their finds!

Nice Bel Air. Hopefully whoever gets it will try to leave it in as found condition as much as possible. It’s only original once! I might ditch the Continental kit though.

Agree with you all the way, including ditching the Continental kit.

I like the ’62 Chev Stageway. Sure wouldn’t know what to do with it but it might be fun, everywhere but trying to slip into a parking space at the mall. That’s funny even thinking about it.

the seller of the midget has photos of under the hood and in the trunk which look good. looks like a morris minor pickup in the background of the mustang photo. the seller of the ami has another listing on ebay also, both of which have a lot of interesting cars in the background. i was thinking that the 242 would make a good BF project car and a good mate for the 900s.

The Ami looks great, but 10K? It would appeal only to people who like ugly cars–I’ve always wanted one to go with my 2CV.

Funny to see the Stageway & the Topolino together I wonder how many Top’s can fit in the Stageway. My pick of the bunch is that very sweet Mk1 Midget .

Less than three days left and only one bid on the Citroen AMI-6? You’d think people would be lining up for the chance.

Where are all these US 2CVs popping out from?! The Morris Minor looks to be a split screen so must be rather old – I did not realise that they were exported to the US.

the Volvo is a very cool car, but the one we are REALLY lusting after is the Morris Minor pickup in the background of the Mustang photo!
