18,500 Original Miles: 1992 Chevrolet Camaro 25th Anniversary

This clean 1992 Chevrolet Camaro has under 20,000 original miles and marks the 25th anniversary of the celebrated line. This example is optioned with lots of desirable features among fans of the third generation Camaro, from the upgraded OEM alloy wheels to the underbody cladding that makes it look as if it’s three inches off the ground. The white paint may not be the most exciting color, but it’s incredibly clean owing to its low mileage and obvious efforts by the long-term owner to preserve it as a collector’s item. The Camaro is up for grabs here on Barn Finds Classifieds  and offered for sale for the first time as the owner is entering his 80s and believes its time to move the car along. The asking price is $18,000 and the car is located in Arizona.

I’ve read every 1992 Camaro was effectively a 25th Anniversary edition, but some models featured the “Heritage” package that got you some extra decals and stripes going down the hood. This car doesn’t have those, but instead looks like a standard 1992 Camaro that’s simply been kept up in exceptional condition and given some tasteful OEM upgrades. The paint remains very glossy and all glass looks crystal clear, and the listing mentions that the seller’s father-in-law has owned it since 1992 and kept it garaged ever since. That much is obvious, because even if the Arizona sunshine helps keep cars rust-free, it can just as easily destroy interiors and burn off clearcoat.

The engine bay remains bone stock and still presents as new. Assuming I have my engine codes straight and this is a 5.0L V8, it should be good for about 170 horsepower. Not great, but not terrible – and certainly moving in the right direction from a few years prior. While I’d love to see a car like this equipped with a manual transmission, this setup should still make it a great cruiser that will still sound the part with an aftermarket exhaust bolted on. Of course, given how original this specimen remains, I doubt you’ll want to remove any OEM components, no matter how good it may sound with louder pipes. The seller doesn’t specify anything resembling a stack of receipts or maintenance history, and while it hasn’t been used very much, I would still want to see evidence of some components having been replaced due to the passage of time if not because of mileage.

The interior looks to be as clean as the outside, and while these were pretty low-rent cabins when new, they can look weatherbeaten in cars that have seen some level of daily use or otherwise just abused. This one looks like brand new, with no wear evident on the seats or steering wheel, and it retains its factory stereo equipment. The 25th Anniversary badge is visible on the passenger side dash, and one would assume that the air conditioning still works in a car like this. Overall, it’s not the most exciting configuration for a third generation Camaro, but it looks to be in mint condition and is the kind of collector car you can still enjoy from time to time without affecting its value too much over the long-term.

Very nice, well kept car. The deal breaker for me is the absence of the 350 TPI motor. Will make someone a nice cruiser.

The 305 TBI engine is rock solid. No injector problems. no fuel pump problems. no stupid bosch mass air flow sensor. get you some of this.

I had a 1992 firebird convertible with the same engine for a few years
I enjoyed the top down and looks of the car but that engine is BORING
Simply underpowered and i sold it when i finally finished the build on my 1967 firebird
I would buy another 92 but i cant deal with the underpowered engines and i dont have the patience for an engine transplant
Hell , my hyundai santa fe has more power

I had one back in the day. No problems with the 305 but it is incredibly slow. Typical GM of that era, rattle trap, starts to nickel and dime you after a few years. I always like the look of them but I would break down and bud SBC to about 375-400hp to make this what it should have been.

None of you deserve a car like this! She’s GORGEOUS! She’s a flawless
and PERFECT GEM! I want to cry just looking at her. I had the spitting image of this beauty for 19 amazing years until a mishap on I-4 took her from me and broke my heart. This is a beautiful example of a CLASSIC because she is timeless. Kudos on the exceptional love and care you gave to this ’92 RS!
I’d die before I’d sell her!
