1925 Ford Model T: Dump Truck Find

right

This old truck sat from 1939 until it underwent a 2 year long frame off restoration. It’s listed here on craigslist for $12,000. That may seem like a lot of money, but surely it’s less than the cost of the restoration. This truck is a great example of how the value of old cars, 1930s and older, have dropped. It would make a great fun toy, but there’s not really a lot you can do with something like this. Model Ts are great fun to drive once you get used to your right foot being the brake instead of the gas, but this would be interesting to park! Perhaps a sand and gravel business might like this for a promotional vehicle? It would make for a fantastic parade truck!

Amazing seeing how little these vintage cars are going for now.

WOW! No “girly-man” would operate this machine back in the day. That handle on the right side of the dump box, you dumped the load by HAND cranking the box up. Just amazing how far we’ve come and it was trucks like this and the men ( sorry ladies) who drove them, that built our roads, we take so for granted today. I also doubt that cab was original, as a cab was quite a luxury back then, and most dump trucks I’ve seen of this vintage had none. This should, nay, MUST be put in a museum. It’s that important of a piece.

Price does seem a little on the low side. The price is about right for a nicely done TT, but that great dump bed should be more of an adder.

I find this vehicle very interesting. Since these were work trucks, there cannot be very many that still exist. This would be a great promotional vehicle for a business.

Definitely from a time when men HAD to be men. I remember back when I was a kid, a few farmers having a hoist similar to this one on their grain boxes. One well seasoned farmer could crank the box up non-stop until it was completely raised. Puffing on a cigarette while he was at it.
