1946 Ford Woodie Wagon For $5k

1946 Ford Super Deluxe Wagon

Since Josh featured a ’41 Woody project earlier today, I thought this ’46 deserved a mention. It too requires a full restoration, but does appear to be much more complete. There’s only one photo to go off of, but the seller mentions that it’s nearly complete and that the engine block is included. It’s obviously still going to be a time consuming and expensive project, but the end result will be one impressive Ford! So, if you’re ready to try out your woodworking skills, this one can be found here on Hemmings for $5,000! A new wood body could cost upwards of $20k, but this still seems like a bargain starting point considering what restored woodies go for these days. Thanks goes to Tavis H. for the tip!

Well this would give you a wee bit more than the ’41. Too bad a person couldn’t end up with both of them. Unfortunately you couldn’t use patterns off the ’46 to use on the ’41 because the 2 models are different (’42-’48 are almost the same). The ’41 is somewhat of an orphan.

We’re getting there……..wheres the front clip? How was the chassis squared away with the woody pieces still attached? Might even be worth it depending on whats actually there. Of course you could spend easily 80K restoring it, .in which case it might not be worth it. With the aging of the original Woodie folks this might end up as a restomod….woodie body with modern drive train. Old fat guys like their comforts. Very few seem to like an original as it came from Henry Fords factory. Shame really but tempus fugit!

if you want AACA quality – this is a $100k project. The replacement wood alone is $40k installed. You may be able to get the wood done for $20k but that’s a real stretch in time and quality.
