1950 Buick Barn Find With 23k Miles!

American Barn Find

Listed here on craigslist and parked in Long Grove, Illinois priced at $19K OBO is an original 23,000 miles example for your review.  The owner doesn’t mention which model it is – Special, Super, or Roadmaster Tourback Sedan?

1950 Buick

These are the only images posted by the owner.  He does tell us that this car “came out of a barn”, there is “no rust” and the “car needs nothing.”  This is a driver with the original V-8.

1950 Buick Interior

The car is titled and and from what we can see of the interior in the one image it is a clean machine.  Please contact the owner with any questions you may have.

Cheers,
Robert

I like how they carefully align the pictures so you can’t tell its just an old 4dr of little value and the car under the tarp isn’t even the same vehicle –Borders on deceit

This seems to be a common problem with people who post cars for sale but don’t know anything about them

Or people who know more than they want you to know.

Buick didn’t have a V-8 until 1953. The sellers eyesight is weak or he didn’t open the hood!

Pretty sure its a 4 door. It’s pretty dark, but it looks like there’s an extra door frame in the second picture. On the picture of the back I’m certain I see a door handle, plus that open door seems too little for a 2 door.

I was going to say the same thing about the alignment for the pictures. On eBay when you see a front shot as the main picture you know its not a coupe.

Definitely a four door. Not a V8, but that Buick straight 8 was a smooth running and very torquey (is that a word?) engine.

There are not many of us that really like the post ww2 cars, but this Buick 2 or 4 door is cool. If this car is true to its claim then is would be a pleasure to own. Post war cars are my favorite

Nice car…no matter the model. As I recall the ’53 had the Straight eight first half of year.

Only the Special had the straight 8 in 53.

4 door for sure. wonder if the engine was replaced with a V8. A 23k mile car should have the factory engine.

The seller is probably one of those people who think that all 8 cyl. engines are V8’s, I know a few uneducated people who call all 6 cyl. engines V6’s!

Would have to be a straight 8 and with 23k miles as claimed, I see no reason to do an engine swap with a V8. Looks to be a very clean and near pristine example of a 65 year old car. It is a 4 door, and not a Roadmaster, I am thinking the Super model. Also the car under he tarp is the same car unless the guy has more than one ’50 Buick. You can see the vertical grille bars below the bottom edge of tarp, the ’50 was the only Buick model to have that big toothy design. Nice find!

We’re these Buick straight 8’s flat heads or overhead valves? Just curious.

From the basic look of the interior I would say this is a Special, not a Super or Roadmaster. Car looks decent and could be worth a look.
