1957 Ford Thunderbird: A Day Late…

For Sale Sign

With so many classic cars hitting the market everyday, it can be difficult to keep up with all the good finds. Take this Thunderbird for example. It’s a first generation car that has been in storage since the 70’s. It’s obviously less than perfect, but the engine turns over and it looks like a good restoration project. Unfortunately, we didn’t see it until it was too late. The auction listed here on eBay ended before we could get to it. We feel bad for missing it, but figured this presented a good opportunity to enlist the help of our readers. It’s impossible for us to know about every important discovery, so we need all of you to be our eyes and ears. If you hear about a good find, please send it in! If you have a car that you are trying to sell, please consider using us to promote it! Click here to read more about how to submit a car. Without all of you, this site wouldn’t be what it is today. So, thanks and happy hunting!

I was at Barrett Jackson a couple of years ago and ended up talking to Amos Minter for about 30 minutes. He was wiping down his freshly restored T-Birds and it was early in the day so there were no crowds. His cars always get a premium and after talking to him I understand why. These are very tricky to get the body right since there is no adjustment in the front and rear quarters. He claimed that 1 in 10 cars he inspects are possible to even restore. Not sure I could pick the right one…..A very good guy to meet.

Wow! Now that is going to be a project. Loved one of the questions from an eBayer asking if the engine pictured in the front (a 454 mind you) was the original engine to the T-Bird?
