When I came across this 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 Country Squire, I instantly noticed that it was being offered by the same seller as the DeSoto we featured yesterday. It would seem that reader Chris N. found a small stash of cars parked in the same field in Californian and bought the whole lot. This family wagon is going to need some work, but if you’re interested in saving it, it can be found here on eBay.

This wagon is rough inside and out, but it does come with optional bucket seats. Most of these family and grocery haulers came with bench seats up front, so to find one with buckets is uncommon. The back seats look decent, but the front seats are going to need to be redone.

While the bucket seats might add some sportiness, the 220 horsepower 352 cui V8 might be a little underwhelming. Chris claims he has gotten the motor running, but admits it is going to need the wiring gone through. While this one’s rust gives it an interesting look, it has turned into cancer is some areas and is going to need attention. I can’t help but wonder what else Chris out of that field…

Front seats that fold forward on a 4-door car…………………. I’m thinking not original. That said it’s the way I’d want it.

Wen I first saw the buckets and the console my heart gave a little skip. My Father ordered a 1963 Galaxie wagon From the dealer with bucket seats and a console mounted shifter. It was a special order but he did get it from the factory spec’d that way. I always wondered what happened to the car but it had a black interior with a burgundy exterior so I doubt this is the car.

This car shares some things with my 631/2 fastback. Like the front end, the 352. But unfortunately not the buckets and the console. Mine has the bench seat. I wonder if that shifter is connected to the same Cruse-o-matic mine has.

The ’63 Galaxie is one of my favs. They had an odd front suspension item when it is worn out doesn’t do the car any favors, but, easy fixed with a new piece. Ever tried to lift and rear end out of one these and take it to the shop for repair?………..gawd I used to do dumb things.

A newish drive train would be dreamy, but I dare say with paint, interior, suspension……30k to 40K? They are fine looking car.

There is no doubt that the fold down bucket seats, the console and shifter are original! I owned one that was even the same color, but had blue interior. Over the years I have owned several 63 galaxies and one in particular was an XL four door htp. (The rarest of them all) that also had the same bucket seats, console and floor shifter. This one would be a great one to restore.
