1965 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Barn Find

1965 Chevrolet Ck Front Corner In Barn

We found something special for our truck fans out there. This 1965 Chevrolet C/K 1500 has just been pulled from its barn, where it’s been parked for the last 27 years. After a good cleaning, this truck looks good, but is going to need some work. If you’re looking for a solid truck to work on you can find this one on eBay with a starting bid of $200.

1965 Chevrolet Ck Front Uncleaned

With all the dust and dirt that’s accumulated on this truck it’s hard to tell what kind of shape it’s really in, but thankfully the seller gave it a good cleaning after dragging it from the barn.

1965 Chevrolet Ck Front Cleaned

After a good cleaning and putting some air in the tires this truck doesn’t look so bad. The paint looks good and the chrome is all straight and just needs to be polished. There are some problems with this truck that are going to need some attention though. The rocker panels have some rust and are going to need attention and the truck bed is going to need new wood panels.

1965 Chevrolet Ck Front Engine

Our only other concern with this truck is its big 327 V8 that’s not running. We don’t know if the engine turns or if it’s seized up, but we hope it turns and is repairable. 1965 was the first year that Chevy offered the 220 hp 327 cui, as well as air conditioning, in their C/K line of light duty trucks.

1965 Chevrolet Ck Front Interior

The interior looks complete and we can’t find any serious issues with it, outside of being dirty. We would clean it and leave it as it is, it really adds to the character of this barn find. There are a few bad spots on the floors that should be addressed, but overall the floors look solid.

1965 Chevrolet Ck Rear Corner

We love the patina this truck acquired during its 27 year stay in the barn. We would try to get the eingine running, repair the rockers, and find some old wood for the truck bed and drive it as is. We aren’t huge fans of trucks, but the look of this barn find is winning us over.

I luv trucks, especially old ones, and a barn is a fitting place for a truck, they kinda go together. This one is a really nice example of that concept… would be fun to rebuild

Who put the sidemarker lamps on this “pre 68” vehicle? Anyway…love the old “west coast” mirrors.

That is a sweet ride, I have one, a 1965 GMC, same truck, just minor variations. They all rust out in the same spots, not a big deal if you have skills, there are new patch panels made for them. Mine is primer grey, and we call it “The old grey mare” a true workhorse. We have used it as a farm truck for the last 25 years. When i got it it had the straight six and 3 on the tree. Currently has a 350 v8, turbo 350 with shift kit and a B&M star shifter on the floor. I love this old truck. This one listed here, is sweet as well.

Sorry everyone-the cowl badges on this one tells me it’s a ’66. Got a ’65 C20 on the driveway, and had a ’66 C10 in my earlier years. All ways liked and always will cater to these things.
