The photo of this dusty Chevrolet really caught my eye. It appears to be a clean Caprice just waiting to be revived, but closer inspection proves otherwise. Rodents and the tin worm have had their way with this poor car. The interior is a mess and cancerous rust has taken hold along the bottom quarter of the body. That’s a shame too because this was a decent car with a 327 under the hood. There’s something screwy going on with the VIN too, so I’m guessing this one is only good for parts. It’s located in Merrillville, Indiana and is listed here on eBay with bidding starting at $1,800. Take a look and let us know if you think it could be restored if it’d be better used to keep another Caprice cruising. Thanks goes to Jim S. for the tip!
Jeezus, they ate everything! Can’t imagine what that interior smells like. Poor ole Chevy.
The vin issue, is just a state of Indiana assigned vin#
It’ll be a gross effort to rid that interior of all the debris and then the trunk and engine compartments too but even with the rust , it’s restorable…..The opening bid of $1800.00 is too much though…..IMO.
These were nice cars and still are when sorted .
Wow…..those rat’s got all the good out of that interior!
As much as I like ’66 Caprice’s, this one is to far gone for me. Make it a parts car.
From the days when a Chevy still meant something. These were good driving reliable vehicles, near the end of an era. Can’t understand why someone would just park it and let it get eaten away. Then I recall cars of mine I just parked for lack of parts or changes in life. They were sold pretty quickly, but they could have stayed for years. Parts car.
What the heck is that garage floor made of? Foam marbles??
Looks like chicken dung
Yuck. I wouldn’t get within 20 feet of this car without wearing a hazmat suit and oxygen mask.
I’m interested in the car and am not afraid of a challenge I’d trade my 2001 Dodge ram x cab with a lot of goodies on it. U don’t find these cars everyday and if u do there a lot worse. What’s a little resto?
All that interior stuff!?!? Yucho! Half price…$900.00 tops.
