1969 Pontiac LeMans Barn Find

01313_a0PmRC2euoA_600x450

This Pontiac LeMans had been sitting in this garage since 1984 until just recently when it was pulled out. Find it here on Chicago’s craigslist with an unknown asking price.

The body is said to be solid as well as the floor, trunk pan, doors and quarters.  A turbo 350 trans. and two Pontiac engines are included with your purchase.  Neither is installed at the moment though.

The front bucket seats are missing, too bad. The back seat, dash-pad, carpet and door panels are said to be in order.

One of the engines has a “YU” code on it.  The car has power disc brakes and it still is wearing bias tires according to the owner.  If interested you will have to call to get more information and a price.

Cheers,
Robert

Oh man, I had one of those that was a roundy round stock car. Even made a video of the first day I got it up and running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9qClgc9Mz4 Some people freaked out in the comments about it being a GTO with a 400, but it was in fact a lemans with a 350 according to the block and data tag stampings.

Probably should have kept that one but did well enough on trade/sale to make it go away and not feel too guilty.

Now I realize that bias Plymouth tires can also go on a Pontiac.

Depends on what he wants for it with a solid body and most parts there it might be a worth while project but if he’s wanting GTO $$$ he might as well forget it. Lemans are nice cars but not worth GTO money. My parents had a 67 Lemans that went through all us kids and I ran it in a demo derby for it’s funeral and no I didn’t win in that car.

This Chicagoland seller also has 29 other ads on craigslist, several big block engines, and a 1971 Olds 4-4-2 455/4speed ragtop. but like this ad he doesn’t list any prices. The olds doesn’t look to bad for being from the Chicago area, rust wise, and most replacement panels are available for it.

Based on my humble opinion,,, if there is no price listed, it’s going to empty your wallet. The photo with the Endura bumper may be a GTO.. Not sure..
Any way, a restored Lemans of that year may not bring the $$$ a GTO would, but is certainly a good find and will be a blast to cruise in…
