The is a rare M-code 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that is ready to be completely restored and brought back to its original glory. There is only 1 day left in the auction and the roller is bid to $8,500 here on eBay. The Mustang is located in Muskegon, Michigan. The car has sat in storage for the past 25 years.
This Mach 1 originally came with a 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 engine and 4 barrel carburetor. The seller has located a 1970 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 engine apparently for sale separately to the winning bidder. The engine is said to turn but will need to be rebuilt. Pictures of the engine show that it comes with both heads, exhaust and intake manifold, oil pan and valve covers.
The interior has been stripped except for the seats. The dash and many other interior components are pictured in the ad and are presumed to go with the car. The car is rusty and the pictures show that it will probably need floorboards and some structural work. The roof has been painted black which covers up surface rust on the top.
The car was originally medium blue and a black interior and came with power steering, power brakes and an automatic transmission. The seller has a Marti report and copy of the original invoice. This car has great lines and will take a lot of work. The seller also has a rebuilt 390 cubic inch V8 engine and a 2 barrel 351 cubic inch V8 engine that he will sell. What is your take on this Mach 1 project.
At first glance it reminds me of the VW Golf Harlequin.
Not a sustainer
True Weasel, but I am wondering why so many panels needed replacing ? Surely the complete front end did not succumb to rust ?
Its a 50 year old car , t could have been very rusty, depending on where its been
It would be nice if you explained the M code part.
John,
M code is 351 Cleveland 4 Barrel.
Thank you.
It appears to be several (at least 3) 70 Mustangs. And the seller just happens to have 3 different motors he’ll sell, separately of course. Odd coincidence.
Rattle box that’s 3 different cars, no parts born on it, and god knows structure wise where your at, buy a better one
BUY ONE DONE… you couldnt afford to fix this mess of parts.. what a shame
in six months it will back up for sale again when the owner realizes how much work and cost it will be to put it back together…sad to say but its a parts car now
The best parts of the car seem to be the doors and front end the floors are all rusted out and I would suspect the trunk and wheel wells to be the same way!! This seems to be what’s left over from a previous build and he’s trying to cash in for his better project!!! I could be wrong but it’s just an observation that I see!!!
