1970 Mustang Convertible Barn Find

1970 Mustang Convertible Barn Find.Bmp

Reader Jeff V. just found this red 1970 Mustang Convertible on the Madison, Wisconsin’s craigslist. It appears that the car is located in Evansville. The seller claims that this pony has been in a barn for fifteen years and that it needs some work. The photos show the car sitting in the barn, but they are dated 2007. The car is equipped with the 220 horsepower 302 V8 attached to an automatic transmission. Best aspects of the deal are that the odometer reads 29k and that they are only asking $6,500. If there is no major rust, this could be a bargain. Thanks to Jeff for sharing this one.

Ah, the eighty’s ugly wheel, and those damn dumb looking steering wheels. From the looks of it reversed rear shackles and probably air shocks.

Yes Mr. Pickett, too all of the above. To add, being a Mustanger for the last forty years I can say the ’70 is a dandy car. If this one is with out rust it is a nice find. A great look on these is Minilites and lowered. Of course some go fast goodies with a Boss 302 set up for suspension and Konis. Just an opinion.

One good thing is new repro parts are easy to get and not at high cost and it make a great looking and fun ride for not a lot of money put about 8,000/10,000 in it and wow for 15,000 a looker and a fun summer runner. Better then buying a new one at 30,000 + and look like all others out there . I think it has 129,000 on the clock but still its 42 years old

I don’t know Steve, my Cobra Jet only ran out of brakes once, driving crazy on two lanes in Wisc. With the small block they can be made to handle with rear sway bar and newer shocks.

My 1965 has never given me a problems I have had it for 22 years. With proper maintance and the proper work done on it there should be no issue with it, brakes or otherwise An easy car to work on not like todays models. Also depends on who owned it before you, still not a bad fun car with some work and money,
