It has been mentioned before that estate sales can be great places to find cars and reader Andrew N. has just proved that point once again. This one-owner 1967 Plymouth Sports Fury convertible is claimed to be completely original with only 25k miles on the odometer. If the claims are true, this could one heck of a find. It will be auctioned off this weekend in Seattle, Washington with a 20k minimum bid. You can find more information here. We wish they had provided more details because specifics like engine size could greatly affect the final value. Please let us know if any of you are planning on attending. For those interested there is a small link under the description of the car on the estate auction page. The link will take you to a CL listing that gives more information on the car. It says the car has the 383 4 BBl engine with Torqueflite transmission and is one of 1388 similar cars.
There are a few so-so pics taken inside the garage that seem to show what could be a 25K-mile car, but from what little I know about these this particular model is not high up on the list of Mopar desirables, so it will be interesting to see if they get the $20K they have set for the opening bid.

I would probably go to look at the car and then end up bidding on some of the other stuff. More interesting junk than most estate sales.
I know these things aren’t the most sought after Mopars, but I really like ’60s Covertible boats like this. A 383 is good by me. The colours work, and nothing says “Sports” car like a Plymouth Fury, right? I like the flat, square, chiseled look of these. Maybe it’s a character flaw, but for the money it will likely get, I wish I was close enough to bid.
I have a 67 like that but with a 318 engine. It’s not in near as nice of shape as that one but Hagerty has it at $15000 as a daily driver.
My parents owned the Chrysler Newport version of this car. Same car, different sheet metal. It was a good cruiser. The 383 of that era was prone to burn valves, and a valve job about every 50 or 60 K was not unusual. It could be a fun car. 20K seems a tad optmistic.
For us 21st Century enthusiasts, demerit points right off the top for the 70’s cut-in-the-door-panel speakers. On the other hand, you can unscrew a lightbulb but not a pregnant lady . . . .
